As an Applicant’s Attorney and later a defense attorney, Mr. Richards has appeared before just about every Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Southern California on matters such as liens, AOE/COE, priority conferences, threshold issues, expedited trials on issues of medical treatment and temporary disability, mandatory settlement conferences, and trials of cases-in-chief.

In May 2014, Mr. Richards entered solo practice in Santa Ana, again exclusively representing Applicants in Workers’ Compensation claims, from the filing of the Applications for Adjudication to resolution.

Mr. Richards now spends approximately 90% of his practice time as an Applicant's Attorney in the California Workers’ Compensation system with regular frequency. The other 10% is split between labor & employment law, wages & hours, personal injury tort law, and disability law.

Mr. Richards is a member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association, Orange County Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section and a member of the California Lawyers Association Workers’ Compensation Section. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, membership in which is limited to Trial Lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence in Advocacy by achieving a trial verdict, award or settlement in the amount of One Million Dollars or more.

Outstanding Legal Services

My experience with the Law Office of Joseph Richards was very positive. Joseph handled my case with exceptional expertise and in a caring manner. I had many questions about the process, and Joseph was patient enough to answer my questions. He fought for my rights as an injured worker and is extremely knowledgeable in his field of law. He and his staff were always helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. Staff is outstanding and proficient with the paperwork involved in the system, as well as friendly and responsive to my emails, calls, attentive to my health concerns. I received copies of my paperwork always in a timely manner, and he and his staff made the process effortless by utilizing electronic means to finalize my case during the pandemic easing my load. Highly Recommend

I would highly recommend Joseph Richards and his team. Joseph's team took the time to thoroughly understand my situation in our consultation prior to signing any paperwork. Their openness and willingness to answer all my questions in our initial consultation set them apart from other offices right away. They handled all the paperwork and took the guesswork out of a complicated situation. Additionally, Joseph worked to resolve my claim quickly. Professional and Accurate

We settled my workers' compensation claim and I got more than I expected, because my lawyer went the extra mile by investigating the issues in a professional manner. Friendly office atmosphere in Santa Ana and Corona. Always get updated with any new matters. Highly educated concerning workers comp. Excellent. I was so happy working with Mr. Richards. It changed my life considering the injury. Highly recommend Mr. Richards for any legal matter. One of the top good negotiators. Very patient.

Sharp, level headed, experienced

Mr. Richards has counseled me multiple times and always gives excellent advice which I have been able to use in real life work situations. He is experienced and knowledgeable ... knows how to handle complex situations and get results in his favor. I've been so impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Joseph Easton Richards is highly recommended

I was served with an Unlawful Detainer. As these must be responded to with a short turnaround time, Joseph was able to find time in his schedule on a Friday evening to meet with me. He did a great job of explaining the different parts of the document, documentation I needed to provide for my case, and recommendations for the best outcome. His recommendations were spot on and the outcome was as expected. While one has the option to choose from hundreds of attorneys in their geographical area, what distinguishes Joseph Richards from other attorneys is his exceptionable client focus. He periodically checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable with how the case was proceeding. It was easy to communicate with him with telephone and email as he incorporated the latest digital technology into his workflow and was very prompt in returning calls. I felt like I was in good hands under his legal guidance.

Unprofessional

A disturbingly unprofessional law group. If you want to add stress to your case hire Joseph Richards. I could not imagine a more stressful process. Terrible communication. He did not negotiate anything prior to my trial and left out major evidence in my case. I wasted 3.5 years for absolutely no settlement. He does not want to listen to you and only cares about making the case easier for him. He barred me from attending hearings, he actually sent me home when I attended the first one. I was kept out of the loop the whole time. I had to learn my case closed via email. Not even a follow up phone call from him after trial, mind you not one update during the trial. He made all decisions without me. ***If you are a young female stay far away from this firm.
