also known as Charles Medina, Law Office of Charles Medina
Charles Medina is a member of the New York, Washington State, and Philippine Bars, with a law practice that spans over 10 years. In the Seattle Area, we offer legal services mainly in immigration, estate planning and divorce. In other states, we offer exclusive legal services in immigration.
1. Immigration
Immigration services often involve either relief from removal or application for benefits. If you are in removal proceedings, we will help you fight removal by finding the best relief available to you. Our attorney, Charles Medina, litigates complex immigration cases before Immigration Courts across the U.S., the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Charles defends individuals who face removal due to past criminal offenses, immigration fraud, visa violations and other unlawful conduct.
If you are not in removal proceedings, we can help you apply for benefits with USCIS such as waivers of inadmissibility, reinstatement of student visa status, reinstatement of revoked petitions, and visas or green cards for investors, aliens of extraordinary ability, skilled workers, battered spouses, or family members.
2. Estate Planning
Estate planning is concerned with one main problem: what happens to one’s properties when one dies? Will there be taxes that need to be paid when these properties are transferred to the heirs or beneficiaries after a person dies? How does one minimize, or if possible, eliminate, taxes and probate costs so that their heirs will get the maximum value of these assets? How does one protect one’s assets from creditors? How does one protect the assets if the heirs have reckless spending habits? How does one make sure that one’s hard earned assets will be enjoyed by the one’s heirs and the next generation after?
Once you have identified your concerns, we will help you achieve your goals in the most effective way possible within the limits provided by law. We will examine with you all your options and help you understand which options would accomplish your objectives and why some options would not.
3. Divorce
Divorce is often something that no one planned or anticipated but when it becomes inevitable, divorce should be managed thoughtfully and carefully so that all parties involved can move on with their new lives. Sometimes, divorce is amicable and that makes the process easy for everyone.
However, when divorce is contested, you would need all the help you can get. We will help you navigate a complex process so that you can protect your rights and interests. When you do it alone, sometimes strong emotions prevent you from making thoughtful decisions. We will provide you with the objective and rational advice you need so that you can get the best possible outcome under your particular circumstances. When we represent you, we give you peace of mind and the confidence to survive a difficult process.
