After just receiving the letter from EDD stating that they had determined that I was not eligible for benefits because I was terminated for misconduct. I was in a state of shock, fear, and filled with anxiety. In addition, EDD sent a 2nd letter saying that the benefits that I received are now overpayment and tacked on a penalty fee on top of that. On my last day at my job, II was told by my former employer that I was being let go because they wanted to go in a different direction, but then they go and report to EDD that I was terminated for misconduct. I contacted Michelle soon after and she was instrumental in calming me down and helping me break down the events that occurred. She explained to me the laws pertaining to my situation and helped me see how I can win my appeal and receive my unemployment benefits. When I met her in person, her passion and expert knowledge of employment law made me feel like I had a good chance of winning my case. Throughout the process, Michelle was always sure to keep me updated on the latest events of the case and made me feel that she cared about my case.
Being unemployed can be a stressful time. Compound that with having to fight EDD and your former employer for unemployment benefits makes things worse. I am very happy to have hired Michelle as my attorney. I credit winning my EDD case to her hard work and expert knowledge.

Michelle Reynolds exceeded my expectations as she guided me through a very stressful time dealing with the Administrative Law Judge's decision to disqualify me from receiving unemployment benefits. I contacted Ms. Reynolds for legal advice on overturning the ALJ's decision and she was very thorough, knowledgeable and passionate about my case which she felt very confident that I would win my second appeal. With her guidance and advice, I won my second level appeal. If I could go back and go through this again, I would have hired her immediately to win the first appeal, and save myself the stress of going through the second level appeal process. Not only is she highly intelligent, she truly has a good heart and you can trust her to be the best attorney who will fight for you and win!

Ms. Reynolds served as a great advocate for me when I had to appeal a denial for an unemployment claim. I had a employer who had switched the reasons of my termination, thus having EDD deny my unemployment claim. It was a difficult situation to navigate by myself but, luckily, I was able to hire Ms. Reynolds to help me through this. Ms. Reynolds was very professional throughout, but also displayed a genuine concern for me as a client. She was very thorough in her approach as she considered every side of the issue at hand. Her passion for helping those for unemployment claims in difficult situations really showed through her dedication, attention to detail, and responsiveness through my case. My case was presented in a very simple and organized way and in the end, the judge ruled in my favor, granting my unemployment claims to be expedited. Needless to say, I highly recommend Ms. Reynolds for any unemployment claim situations. This is truly her niche.

I retained Michelle’s legal representation services for my 2nd-level appeal hearing before the CUIAB for a UI benefits claim (claimant side). I was originally determined to be disqualified for UI benefits under Section 1256, and appealed this decision to an administrative law judge in pro per. I received an unfavorable ruling and at that point contacted Michelle for representation at the second-level appeal before the CUIAB.
Michelle has been a top-notch professional from the start. She gave me a free 1-hour initial phone consultation to understand the particulars of my case. During this consultation she also provided me with objective feedback as to the pros & cons of continuing my appeal and informed me she thought I had a strong case. She was very thorough and communicative throughout the appeals process, and encouraged my collaborative input. Her thorough knowledge of precedent benefit decisions and UI/Labor code became immediately evident upon reading the appellant brief she crafted for me and subsequently filed with the Board. Despite the low chance of the CUIAB overturning an ALJ’s (administrative law judge) decision -- approx. 10-15%, I was informed recently they had done exactly that and ruled in my favor.
Had it not been for Michelle’s diligence, legal acumen, and professionalism, I am convinced that my denial after the first-level hearing would have been the end of the road for my claim. I would highly recommend her to anyone, employer or employee, that may be embroiled in a similar legal fiasco.

I hired Michelle Lee Reynolds on several EDD unemployment issues, e.g. large overpayment, quit with good cause and unintentional fraud issues. Michelle Lee Reynolds diligently analyzed my cases and brought resolution to them all. I had my benefits stopped on numerous occasions, but attorney Michelle Lee Reynolds handled all my issues, timely and professionally. She got a administrative EDD law judge overturned with a second level appeal with a 11% chance of winning, her knowledge is well calculated and her representation in person was phenomenal . I definitely recommend her for not only EDD unemployement issues, but employment issues in general. I hired Michelle Lee Reynolds for various types of work, not only for Unemployment , but other matters as well. She stands strongly behind her law firm and not only trusted by the community, but trusted by her business associates and respected. Make no mistake, she will get the job done and law is her passion and i'm 100% satisfied with hiring her. 5 Stars for sure...........
