Jerry Raymond Schaffer

Hired the guy a year ago to file a petition for factual innocence. He stated it would take 3 months tops to have completed. Three months go by and his previous secretary claims she filed it. Jerry later validated that this was a lie. Four months later still no motion filed. I asked for my money back ...and no answer. The latest correspondence he himself reiterated that “this isn’t rocket science” and “it’s really simple” telling me to let him get to the bottom of it. More time wasted and nothing done. Disputed the charge with the bank and reported him to the state bar. The guy is an absolute mockery to the legal profession. I highly recommend all the other one star reviews do the same. It’s only a matter of time before this guys incompetence costs someone their freedom. Also, most of the 5 star reviews are clear written by staff in his office. Most defendants don’t know what’s “common practice” for bond hearings.

I didnt want to write this but i paid this man 5k he didnt do nothing for me not even go to court (because d.a rejected my case from the jump i never even went to court) my case was thrown out before i even paid him all the money ,Jerry told me that i have to keep paying because the police keep tryi...ng to press charges on me even tho the d.a threw the case out two times (he said the police tried to press charges two times )i was innocent and the d.a knew it my lawyer jerry acted like he was gonna get my case dismissed and get everything off my record as long as i pay in full even promised to me so i went and paid it in full never heard back from him again . I reached out a few times no reply he never left his office for my case period but got 5k smh i wouldn't recommend

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS BEFORE DEALING WITH THIS ATTORNEY!!!!!!!!!!!! RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE WARNED!!! This Lawyer does not even deserve a single star. I Hired Attorney Jerry Schaffer in August. August 6th 2018 to be exact. He was very nice at the time and very convincing. He promised to ema...il me our retainer later that day. That never happened(biggest mistake i ever did) nonetheless i still I trusted him. In less than 4 month i was done making his payment and now the ball was on him to do what i had paid him for. Jerry Schaffer did nothing but "be in court" every time i tried to reach him through his cell phone. He's assistant at the time was also like finding a dropped diamond in the ocean. I called Jerry's call center a million times to get an appointment to no avail. I have done so many impromptu visits at his office and nothing. Jerry Schaffer is so busy handling every case in court, thats why i could never get to see him. The very few times i saw or spoke to Jerry he always gave me the same answer. My case is not even filed in court yet. Stupid me I still believed this man. On January 4th Jerry Schaffer( a FORMER DA) FAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT FOR MY HEARING. Because i had so much trust in this man i was not even aware until i had to go get court paper works thats when i realized that he did not show up in court and a warrant of arrest was issues on me. On 22/01/2018 immediately called the (Busy) Jerry to ask him what happened online for me to now get hit with reality. This guy sent me a dark photo followed by a message (I am sick). Mind you this is 18 DAYS after. I immediately called him and thats when the true Jerry Schaffer came out. First of he did not sound sober on the phone, he was slurring and constantly lying to me. He started with he was 2 days sick then he became 6 or 10 days sick , the that changed to 2 weeks sick. (THIS WERE IS EXACT WORDS NOT SUGAR COTTED). I immediately knew thats it this guy should not be representing me and right away i found a new attorney for my case. My new attorney took action right away, uplifted the warrant and is smoothly working on the case. On the other hand, Jerry Schaffer was still arguing with me that there was no warrant of arrest issues even after i went to court and got the minutes myself but could not explain as to why he missed my hearing. I also went to his office today to get all the summary of everything he claims he has done and also to get a copy of the retainer. He gave me court summaries which clearly shows he missed the court and for the retainer, he called the securities to kick me out of the building, so he can have privacy to alter our agreement. Smart Jerry changed the dates and accidentally or purposely put 08/10/2019.
