Biography
Vu Trinh is a trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience helping clients fight for their freedom and helping individuals achieve the American Dream. His deep knowledge in criminal law stems from handling a wide variety of criminal matters, ranging from misdemeanor offenses of all types to serious felonies like attempted murder, three strike offenses, carjacking, felony drug possession, domestic violence, criminal street gangs, and special circumstance homicide. He has also handled a wide variety of white-collar related matters including fraud and banking violations, health care offenses, trade secret and procurement fraud, forfeiture proceedings, and environmental regulation offenses. He has successfully won motions and trials before trial and appellate judges, and has successfully negotiated matters with local and federal prosecutors. In 2009, due to his vast experience in the criminal justice system, the State Bar of California Board of Governors appointed Vu as a commissioner for the Criminal Law Advisory Commission to the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. On the commission, he advised and assisted the State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization in the administration of the certification program for criminal law. Vu reviewed, evaluated, and made recommendations on certification and recertification applications to the State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization. He also wrote exam questions for the certification exams and graded them. From 2011-2012, Vu chaired the advisory commission's committee on commission appointments, responsible for ensuring a rich and geographically diverse pool of candidates for appointment to the criminal law advisory commission. Vu Trinh handles all types of litigation including civil, personal injury, business, immigration, and criminal law.
