Andrew David Cherkasky

From the moment we first spoke, until the judge said "not guilty", I knew hiring the dynamic duo that are the Cherkasky's was a decision I would always be happy with. Being accused of a crime you know you didn't commit is hard enough...being told you will be court martialed for it is a whole other matter. Andy worked with my ADC to come up with the best way to represent me, and he did so with the tenacity of a gladiator in the arena. Not only did he explain step by step what the next move was, he was there for me whenever I just needed to vent. Finding a lawyer is one of the worst things I've had to do in my life. Trying to find a lawyer is like trying to decide on cereal in the cereal aisle, it is a very frustrating experience. When I had a legal matter arise, I was confused, scared and lost. A friend recommended Andy and after our first conversation, I felt comfortable with the man I was talking with about my situation. Firstly, let me say 4000 characters is not nearly enough to give Andrew Cherkasky the praise he deserves. As a deployed member of the Air Force my life changed dramatically when I was informed I was being investigated for crimes I had no idea I had been committing. My circumstances were that of someone who was misinformed and naively took a NCOIC's word as law. My ADC had basically advised me that there was a very good chance that I would be convicted of all crimes I was being charged for. He believed I we be imprisioned for an extended period of time and that the prosecution had a very strong case against us. I was fortunate enough to have come across Mr. Cherkasky’s information online and requested a consult. Despite having other cases his response was very immediate. We were on the phone within a short time and speaking in detail about my situation. He provided me with assurances that he was skilled to handled the case and actually had several cases in the past which dealt with the same kind of situation. Once home there were still administrative issues to deal with. Mr. Cherkasky, is a great Military defense lawyer. He takes his time to evaluate each situation and then he gives you an honest opinion. I have worked with Andy for the past three months. Normally most lawyers would have become very frustrated with my situation because it was so drawn out. Andy made the necessary phone calls and did the necessay research, actually he put in more that the required work. His prices are very reasonable. Andrew Cherkasky impressed me during our first phone conversation. I contacted five different law firms, twice, speaking with them at length regarding my concerns and situation. Andrew was hired to represent my son who had been charged with sexual assault. The case never went to trial and my son was given a general discharge for misconduct. My son was a model sailor starting in basic training where he was recognized for his leadership skills. After graduation, prior to A school he worked hard to excel and was recognized by his shipmates and commanding office for leadership and exemplary performance. After A school he was awarded sailor of the quarter which identified him as a role model, especially when circumstances demand greater than normal responsibilities. He expeditiously completed all required qualifications, examinations and A school. He was promoted to E4 and never quit working to do the best job he could, even after charges were filed against him. My son was proud to be in the Coast Guard and was working to build a strong foundation for his future and was planning to attend higher education on the GI bill. I believe that In an effort to satisfy metrics in the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (SAPR) to congress, the USCG needed to successfully prosecute and did not feel that they could after the pretrial hearing with Andrew Cherkasky so they decided they would just discharge my son for misconduct. This has violated my sons constitutional right invoked by the 5th amendment which is intended to insure due process. The general discharge ended my sons career in the USCG and eliminated all benefits offered by the GI bill. Andrew Cherkasky is working to appeal this injustice, I will write further to his success when concluded.
