Biography
My first job out of college in 1989 was working for a workers' compensation insurance company as a claims adjuster. I worked up to a Senior Claims Adjuster and then promoted to a Claims Supervisor. I later transferred into the legal department and started attending workers' compensation hearings (as a non-attorney/hearing representative) and taking depositions of injured workers. Thereafter, I decided to attend law school and enrolled in a night program while working during the day full-time. After graduating from law school and passing the California Bar Examination, I stayed working as a defense attorney for the insurance company, and later worked for a private firm.
In 2001, I moved into an applicant's firm representing injured workers. In 2008, I founded The Law Office of Ben H. Nakatani, Jr., now incorporated as The Nakatani Law Group, A.P.C. located in Newport Beach, California. As of 2018 I decided to "go back to my roots" in defending insurance carriers. With 17 years experience representing injured workers, I now use all that experience and knowledge in defending insurance companies to fight fraud and reduce costs.

Great Personal service!
I had many questions regarding the WC system, it's so hard to figure out. Mr. Nakatani answered all my questions and gave me piece of mind. I am very happy that I don't have to do this alone. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. His staff is wonderful too!
