Chandra Lynn Moss

I chose Holstrom, Block, & Parke, specifically Chandra Moss, because they touted themselves as men’s advocates in divorce cases. I felt relatively confident after sitting with Chandra during the initial interview that I could conclude my divorce in a timely and fair manner. The divorce was indeed... handled more quickly than it was moving before her involvement, but I am convinced it was at the cost of fairness because my case did not “fit in the boxes” due to some extenuating circumstances she/they were either unable or unwilling to deal with. One example is that my ex-wife had been cohabitating with another during much of the proceedings even though I had been paying an agreed upon spousal support. She had perjured herself, though we had ample strong evidence to support the fact of cohabitation. Yet attorney Moss chose not to pursue this at any level and, at the very least, use the evidence as a viable negotiation tool! Secondly, I was paying half of what was considered a community debt (borrowed from her mother’s home for a failed business adventure) because I did not want her mother to lose her home. However, this was carried over she characterized the “community debt” (my name wasn’t even on the loan against her mother’s home) in the orders as “additional support”. The intent here was to make this payment tax deductible along with the rest of the spousal support, but the unintended consequence is that it can never be the subject of a bankruptcy action…something Chandra said at the time may be a strategy for later. Subsequently, the home has been sold at a substantial profit and, as the orders are written, I get no benefit (tax credit related to mortgage, a portion of proceeds, etc.) even though I was seeking no proceeds nor profit…only relief since the debtor has been paid in full. Chandra and team do not see fit to fight on my behalf! Finally, the standard Gavron clause was issued for my ex-wife in the orders, but again Chandra and team do not see fit to pursue that, either! My ex has done nothing of consequence to better her situation and is quite content with bleeding me (as she did for most of our marriage)! If you are a “cookie cutter” case I believe this team may serve you well. If not, and you have some unusual circumstances as I did/do, let’s just say her lawyer was better than mine!!
