Excellent Attorney

Nancy took all the time needed to cover my concerns when she called regarding my inquiry. I only wish she were the attorney handling my case from the beginning.

Posted by anonymous | January 22, 2015 | Workers Compensation

Potential to be a great representing lawyer but allowed personal issues to become a lawyer that didn't even show to hearings.

Nancy was very knowledgeable and fought for you when she had the time. Although, she may love answering questions on here she didn't like answering questions on the phone or in person and never seemed to have my file or proper paperwork in front of her even at prior scheduled meetings. She could be a... great attorney but for me she didn't have the time, man power, poor excuses, no contact for months to not even showing up to court with the judge, client and defense waiting even trying to reach her from the court hearing. This added probably another couple years to my case and allowing for the defense to get denials through and causing neglect to getting proper timely medical attention which could very well be part of why my injury/condition had worsened! I personally did most of the investigating work and tracking down reports to having to fax my own medical documentation to her because she never had anything or ever requested or inquired about my case to my doctor's or anyone. She should have been the first one to have the documentation and making sure it was accurate, proper and I was updated and agreed or disagreed with the findings etc. I felt like I was working for her. Quite a shame because she is very knowledgeable and a fighter which an injured worker needs in this hell of being stuck in the workman's comp. system but became unreachable, rude at times, unaccountable, unprofessional and untrustworthy. Didn't even have other partners etc. to help aide if needed. She didn't even have a receptionist or a working voicemail at times. Used every excuse possible from the most dramatic of weather issues to pet issues to blaming me the client for not making her aware of a court date. She actually blamed me for not emailing her about a msc hearing she knew of before I did or requested herself. I guess she thought I was keeping her calander. I should have been paid the 15% as I did majority of all the work and was the one in court defending myself. The defense ate this up and I beleive it caused the defense to get away with improper denials, compensation and prolonging my case to making them low ball my injuries because I basically didn't have good legal representation and I was alone standing with "egg on my face"! This attorney really needs to get her act together for the sake of her craft and most importantly her clients! This a person's health and livelihood at stake!!

I'm sorry you were unhappy with the service. I wish I could recall this case or any of these things occurring but cannot. I DO have a tough time telling people who beg for help 'no' and it backfires on me sometimes.

She really helped

I went to another lawyer who sent me to a chiropractor for an ankle and a shoulder which he couldn't help. Then, before I could finish with an orthopedic, that bad chiropractor wrote a false report that i was finished so the bad lawyer could close the case quickly! Nancy fixed the damage done by ...the bad lawyer and bad chiropractor...I'll NEVER call an 800 number for legal help ever again.

Personal Attention...a rarity these days

My husband had two back injuries, the second one cost him his job. Mrs. Wallace handled the case herself, appeared herself at court appearances, spent as much time as we needed so we could understand. friends had secretaries handling their claim and couldn't understand why they got what they got. ... My husband was given the option of settling or going to trial and the good parts and bad parts of each...I had to explain this to other friends with work injuries because they could never talk to their lawyer.

"Without any hesitancy, I endorse Nancy J Wallace for her dedicated and fearless legal work on behalf of injured workers in the California workers' compensation system. Like me, Ms. Wallace worked on the defense side of the field for many years before switching over, meaning she has first-hand inside knowledge on how defendants, and their lawyers, approach claims. Ms. Wallace is passionate of what she does and it is not easily intimidated by insurance company tactics and denial letters."

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2017.

Public reproval with/duties issued in CA, 2017

updated on 05/31/2018

A censure or reprimand issued by the Supreme Court or the State Bar Court that is not a matter of public record unless imposed after the initiation of formal disciplinary proceedings. No period of suspension is imposed. The reproval may be imposed with duties or conditions.

Nancy’s comment:

“I did not know the Board of Specialization sent me something i never received, and said I was a Specialist* (*I was for 24 years) on my website when I was no longer one. I thought i had corrected my website but the changes I made didn't get saved. I was battling a life-threatening blood clot at the time of trial and was advised to 'agree' i violated bar rules instead of going to trial, so I have been disciplined. If i didn't have the clot, i would have proceeded to trial.”
