After graduating from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, Paul Hilton began his practice in the San Diego area and is licensed to practice law in California’s state and federal courts.
A retired Marine, Paul finds that his law career allows him to pair his passion with his purpose within his home community. During his time in law school, he was awarded the Veterans Assistance scholarship and served as the Executive Editor of Law Review. As a lawyer, Paul provides specialized attention to each of his cases. He enjoys solving problems and finding the best answers for his clients.

A native of Southern California, Paul Hilton has had a passion for helping others for others longer than he can remember. Committed to “service to country”, Paul was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from Biola University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He has a master’s degree from the University of Southern California and master’s degree in National Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
During this twenty-six year tenure as a Marine Officer, Paul served in Southwest Asia during the First Gulf War. His service included assignments in the Fleet Marine Forces Pacific and Atlantic and in Washington, D.C. at the Marine Corps Headquarters. Additionally, he worked in NATO staffs and planned major expeditionary operations in the Northern Atlantic and Central Europe.
Upon retirement from the Marines, Paul served the U.S. Navy as a cybersecurity professional before pursuing a law degree. While at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Paul served as the Executive Editor of Law Review. Along with his editor responsibilities, he oversaw the Chief Editors and served on the Notes and Articles Selection Committees for the fall 2017 and spring 2018 publications. Paul also contributed to the fall 2017 publication as the author of a published student note that analyzed the First Amendment free speech standards as applied to government employees.
Focused on giving back to the community, Paul is committed to supporting fellow veterans through volunteering at the Thomas Jefferson Law School’s Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic. He provides estate planning and personal injury law assistance to residents and alumni of Veterans Village of San Diego, a residential program that provides support to formerly homeless veterans. Paul’s dedication to the clinic was recognized by his professors in 2017 when he was awarded the Veterans Clinic Alumni Scholarship due to his commitment to the organization.
Married for 37 years to his wife Robyn, Paul is the father to son, Josh, and daughter, Amanda and a grandfather to his four grandsons. A dog enthusiast with three dogs at home – two schnauzers Nadia and Lana and a dachshund named Oliver Wendell Holmes. In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time with his family, CrossFit and cooking.
