Jennifer Gerstenzang

Jennifer Gerstenzang is simply one of the best attorney’s I have ever worked with in my 30 plus years in business. I hired Jennifer to represent my 17 year old son whom we believed had his fourth amendment right violated by the police. As the case involved a minor, I was prepared for a 30-minute hear...ing with my son receiving some type of community service work sentence and call it a day. To my surprise, that did not turn out to be the case. The prosecutor made a bigger deal of the charges than the event merited. The case went on for three and a half hours and became a constitutional law debate between the judge, prosecutor and Jennifer. She was simply brilliant and more prepared than the prosecutor. She cited case law as far back as 1969 to prove our point. In the end we prevailed and the charges were dropped resulting in the entire case being suppressed. Going into this case we gave ourselves a 1% chance of prevailing as the courts rarely go against police testimony. Jennifer is extremely intelligent, compassionate and driven to succeed. I highly recommend her in any personal law case that anyone may encounter.

Jennifer helped my 18 yr. old son when he was facing a misdemeanor charge as a result of some unwise choices that he and a few of his friends made. She negotiated a solution with the San Diego police and the victims that avoided any charges being filed and was win-win for everyone involved. The boy...s wrote apology letters, learned a lesson, and were able to move forward in their lives without a criminal record and without the time and expense of a trial. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and experienced. She explained the legal issues and process to us and helped us decide on the best course of action in this difficult matter. She worked hard to quickly resolve the problem successfully. We appreciated her personal attention to our case and we have complete confidence in her abilities as an attorney. I hope we don't have to call her again soon, but if we ever do have another legal problem like this I would not hesitate to go to her for help. I highly recommend her.

Jennifer is Amazing! Not only is she extremely personable, down to earth, and friendly, but CARES! She was so considerate of my needs, my wants, and thought things through more than I ever had to for myself. She handled everything so I never once had to worry about if things would work in my favor or not. Ms. Gerstenzang is everything you hope a high priced lawyer will be, and yet she serves the people as a public defender. I had a case I thought was open and closed, but I learned that guilt vs. innocence is only part of the equation. The lawyer representing you can be just as determinant on the out...come. Ms. Gerstenzang is the type of attorney you hope for, pray for... she is tenacious, and savvy. She understands the law and how the other side operates . She invested herself in my case and formulated strategic and compelling arguments to ensure my side was properly represented in court. From jury selection to closing arguments, she counseled with me to make sure her approach was one I agreed with. And her knowledge is so solid that when I was confused, worried or doubtful she had all the answers and confidence needed to effectively lead me and my case. As a public defender, her caseload is extraordinary. You would be amazed at how manipulative and shady the DA's office can be. Yet, when faced with the tactics of the DA's office, she was fiercely prepared, and capable. She not only matched their shrewd tactics, she topped them. I had never been in such a situation and the unique circumstances of my life at the time left me in a position where I was unable to afford an attorney. I was at the mercy of the system and I'm confident no one, no matter how expensive, could have represented me better. I'm certain my experience was not common for clients represented by public defenders. It's for that reason that I provide this review. Anyone who finds themselves with Ms. Gerstenzang as their lawyer should consider themselves blessed. She is definitely the best there is, her talent on par with the top criminal attorney's around. Her work is nobel and it is a gift to the public. For profit attorney's use their talent to achieve wealth. DA's use theirs to achieve power, or political positioning. Public defenders use theirs to serve the people, those of us, whose lives are on the line, whose future are at stake. They represent those most in need of competent and savvy legal representation. I am, and any of her clients should be, grateful she chose to lend her talents to the justice system as a public defender. It's lawyers like Ms. Gerstenzang that create the fair, just and balanced legal system our fore-father's intended. Without attorney's like her, justice would be reserved for only those who could pay for it.
