Great Lawyer.

For starters, if you're experiencing the stress of tenant, landlord dispute, I'm sorry. Get good legal help. Do it. In San Diego, there are some good lawyers to be sure, but read all the reviews and you'll agree with me that there are none better than Dan. I won't go into details but I was in a he...ll of fight. Dan held what I consider "the bad guys" at bay. He put in a tremendous effort both in court and his patient communication with me over a fight that lasted well over two years. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Outstanding Advocate

I am an attorney myself and always say a person who represents himself has a fool for an attorney so I hired Dan. I had a landlord sue me for alleged damages. I went to small claims court myself as I was required and lost but appealed and brought Dan and got a much better outcome! I am thankful to... Dan for his expertise getting me through this difficult situation.

Well Informed and Listens To Concerns

Dan Lickel gave me outstanding advice to deal with my eviction case. He saved me thousands of dollars to come to a resolution with my landlord without going to court.

Prompt and Patient

Dan was consulted and hired for a landlord dispute. He dealt with and settled the problem promptly. He is a very kind and patient person, and I am thankful that he was there for me.

Dan Lickel was absolutely amazing

Shortly after the beginning of COVID, my landlord's son took over management of the apartment building I lived in. It was a great spot in Mission Beach with long-term tenants ranging from 3-10 years tenancy. The son came by and had the realization -- why do we have long-term tenants when we could hav...e AirBnb?!?!!?! Thus began the worst year of my adult life. The landlord's son sent us illegal termination notices during the moratorium, threatened to dock our wages and have us arrested for trespassing if we didn't leave, turned our water off multiple times without notice, and more. After contacting over 10 lawyers and multiple visits to Volunteer Lawyers of San Diego, I thought we were out of options. All of them said our 2nd termination of tenancy notice was valid and we had to leave. During my research I had come across Tenant Defenders, but I was put off by the consultation fee when other lawyers did free consultations, so I never called. Finally, literally the day before we had to move out, I scheduled a consultation with Dan Lickel. I thought, "You know what, a lot of the lawyers I spoke to said they did tenant law but weren't even familiar with the information I knew. I want to talk to an expert, just to know for sure". Everything changed after that day. Dan immediately saw that our termination of tenancy notice was invalid. At this time we had already found a new place to go and just needed a few more months before we could move in. Not only were we able to move out on our own timeline, but Dan negotiated a $25,000 cash-for-keys payout. Dan was literally the sunshine through our darkest days. I recommend him to everyone I know. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
