I am a new entrepreneur. I started my business in September of 2014. In the past year, I have been guided by Jake's expertise. Specifically for forming my business entities and ensuring I am completing business requirements to protect myself. I reached out to Jacob regarding a contract in the entertainment industry. While I consider myself very meticulous and curious about legal jargon, I know when some things are out of my hands, and heard of Jacob through a friend. It was my first time asking an attorney to review a contract, for my ben...efit. Jacob reached out to me via phone, and asked I was looking for (in terms of protection, expectations, rights, etc) before he got to work. I voiced my concerns and thoughts, and he went to work. The same day he called me back saying the contract had to revised as it contained clauses and language clearly supporting the other party, and he made the appropriate revisions. He also said he'd revise the contract as required based on negotiations. Being in the entertainment industry, we artists tend to not have enough capital to think about our future interests, and we sign contracts blindly. This is wrong. Because we are financially vulnerable, it's even more important to protect what asset we do have, any will have coming to us. Bigger companies have well-paid attorneys drafting contracts in clear favor of their clients. Jacob helped me by working with my budget and providing prompt service so I, too, feel like I have a vested interest in this transactional relationship with the other party.
