Attorney Huguenor represented me in an adversarial complicated child custody case. He is a well-seasoned, very smart and compassionate family law attorney who knows his stuff. He or his kind paralegal assistant were always available on the phone/email and responded to my questions promptly. Above all he is a great human being who genuinely cares for his clients. I chose to give him 5 stars for his own personal track record of accomplishments and numerous years served in the field of law and because he actually succeeded in saving me unnecessary future grief by correcting the substandard work of another attorney that I had hired before him.

Mr. Huguenor and his team were great. I came to them with a very complex situation and they were up for the challenge. My situation had 3 different states involved and jurisdiction of my child was at question. They were very understanding and accommodating as to my situation and were able to point me in the right direction as to what legal action to take. I hired multiple lawyers in the past for my divorce and child custody issues. The outcome was the same; the lawyer would not listen to what I wanted or my concerns, they were not knowledgeable enough to handle the case, and they were not aggressive enough. Mr. Huguenor listened to my concerns, but he also used his past experiences to tell me the truth about possible outcomes in the case. His detailed and honest approach about how the opposing party could respond to any of our actions/declarations allowed him to prepare for anything that was thrown at us in court. It was the first time in many years that I felt like someone was actually representing me and my children. Protecting my children was the goal, and previous lawyers only made things worse in court, but Mr. Huguenor made me feel like they were protected. A previous lawyer even forgot my child’s name in court. I could tell Mr. Huguenor studied the case before the hearing date as he was calm and prepared in court. For the months before my hearing, Mr. Huguenor and his team did a great job handling the day to day correspondence with the other party, in addition to ensuring the court orders were followed. Despite unprofessional behavior from opposing counsel, Mr. Huguenor’s office always responded professionally and within an appropriate timeframe so that I did not have to worry so much about what to do. Mr. Huguenor will definitely stand up for you when you are the most vulnerable and I highly recommend him.

My case was more complicated and my prior Specialist divorce lawyer who failed to defense me for my daughter visitation and my property. After I signed a contract with Mr. Huguenor, he and his staffs were so great experience, integrity, and honest to take over my case with successful ending result. I was so much grateful to him and his staffs for their great efforts to help me get through the difficult time. Now, I have owned my house back and my daughter stayed close relationship with me as her good father. 1) This attorney attempted to charge me for 5 hours worth of billing on a matter that was previously ruled on by the family court system and was a simple matter of filing a TRO. He tried to bill me $1,500 saying the matter required "signicant research"; the next attorney who reviewed it called it a "no brainer" and put the matter quickly to rest with an hour's worth of billing. Knowing the timing of my situation was critical and that I was very motivated, he saw, I strongly feel, an opportunity to enhance his charges. Another past client of his that I discussed this with complained about repeated similar charges with little resulting action. 2) This attorney founded an organization known as POPCO, a San Diego father's rights group, yet was clandestine regarding his involvement with the group. He would "be invited" to speak before the group and therein farm clients who had no knowledge that he was in fact directing the group's activities. Once discovered, this appeared to me to be deceptive and misleading. I am secure in this knowledge because of an acquaintence who performed office work with POPCO and Mr. Huguenor as a way of paying off his legal fees. I would not recommend this person.
