Attorney Thomas G. Gennaro has an extensive background in athletics, business, and government affairs. Prior to attending law school, Thomas was a competitive boxer. A former Olympic hopeful, he won two National Collegiate Boxing Championships, was a 4-time All American, and won the USA and Golden Glove State and Regional Championships. When he was not boxing, Thomas worked in government affairs and lobbying in Nevada and California. He served as the executive body/representative regarding educational and economic development reform on the first gubernatorial campaign of the current Nevada Governor, Brian Sandoval. He was also a chief campaign director for San Diego Mayor Faulconer’s recent re-election, and multiple city councilmen.    

Today, Thomas is a practicing attorney in San Diego, California. Working in the areas of government affairs and business, he advises individuals, entrepreneurs and established companies in corporate, media, entertainment, technology and sports-entertainment. Thomas has advised his clients on topics ranging from municipal law to international business law. Thomas takes a particular interest in helping startups choose the proper business entity (e.g., LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, LLP) for their endeavor, as he knows that a strong foundation is critical to a successful enterprise. Thomas’s practice also involves serving as outside general counsel and business advisor for his clients, overseeing major business initiatives and transactions.

Thomas also volunteers his time with the Alliance for HOPE International, an organization dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence and children from at-risk homes. Thomas’ passion for working with kids dates back to his days at his University. There he created “Fight for a Cause,” a program to mentor at-risk youth through boxing and education. Through Fight for a Cause, he also raised money to fight ataxia muscular dystrophy by promoting exhibition celebrity boxing matches. Thomas dedicates time and resources to working with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds because he benefitted from and strongly believes in the importance of the great mentorship that is rooted in these experiences.

Thomas was raised in Las Vegas and then later received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada at Reno and his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in California.
