Mr. Barnes' practice focuses on general civil litigation with an emphasis in business litigation and employment law.
Mr. Barnes represented employees and employers in all aspects of labor and employment litigation including class actions, wage deductions, failure to pay wages, payment of overtime, meal and rest breaks, misclassification of employees, inaccurate wage statements, commission calculations, wrongful termination, and retaliatory employment actions in both federal and state court as well as administrative agencies. Mr. Barnes also prosecuted and defended a variety of consumer fraud claims.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Barnes currently works with businesses by providing general counsel on business and employment law issues, including human-resource policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, federal and state wage-and-hour compliance, labor disputes, business formation and dissolution.
