Biography
Joseph Howington was born in 1951 in the state of Texas. He was educated in Southern California, graduating in 1973 from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in History and in 1974 with a Secondary Teaching Credential. He was an educator at both the elementary and secondary levels as well as a high school athletic coach prior to entering the practice of law.
Mr. Howington received his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in 1978 and was admitted to the California Bar in 1979. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist with a private practice in Ontario and the owner of the firm Howington and Associates.
Mr. Howington is a member of The Association of Certified Family Law Specialists for California, The East West Family Law Council (President from 2008-2009), The Orange County Bar Association Family Law Section, The San Bernardino County Bar Association and The State Bar of California. He is admitted to practice in The State of California, The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, The California Supreme Court, The United States Bankruptcy Court Central District and The United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Howington is a frequent lecturer as well as author of articles on family law topics. He also regularly serves as Judge Pro Tem for Los Angeles and San Bernardino County courts.
Mr. Howington and his wife Bobbie (a Registered Nurse) have been married for 33 years are parents of a 24 year old daughter, Ashleigh, a student in the Master's Program of Speech Pathology at Cal State University Fullerton.

The Best
