From the beginning My husband and I walked into the lobby the environment felt great. From the receptionist to every staff member in the firm are streamly kind caring and most important very professional. I had been divorced for a few years prior to meeting Joe Howington. I learned through the grapevine (my ex wife's ex friends) that my ex-wife, (who was not supposed to be working) was working for a horse training center and making large amounts of money under the table. I also had learned she was tak...ing exotic trips to Africa, Canada and all over the country while supposedly not employed. I was paying her huge monthly support payments and she was making more money than was so I decided to take her back to court for a support modification. I did not want to use my original divorce lawyer so I asked around who was the best Family Law Attorney in the Inland Empire and Joe Howington's name came up. I contacted him and our first meeting was very cordial and professional. I knew right away this guy knows his stuff. I hired Joe to represent me for this case and he went right to work. My ex-wife rehired her original divorce lawyer which I did not care for at all. Once the court docs were filed, she had "conveniently" lost her high paying job as horse trainer but then she got a minimum wage job working for a law office. We had learned that they were going to go after a higher monthly support payment because said she is not healthy and unable to work full time. (She was very healthy when she divorced me) After a several court hearings, the pressure was getting to me and I almost threw in the towel a couple of times. It was Joe's paralegal Heather that kept encouraging me to stay in there and fight for what is right. I am so glad I did too. My ex's attorney told the court she is unable to work full time because she developed borderline diabetes. Joe told the court that she was healthy at the time of the divorce and that I am not her insurance policy. The judge agreed. Not only did she not get any more support from me, the support was cut in half. Now I can breathe again. On a side note, Joe Howington is a very personable individual. Whenever we met at the San Bernardino courthouse, he seemed to know everyone and everyone seemed to really like this man. While talking with him in the hallways, people would walk up to him with big smiles and give him a friendly hello. He would joke around with the elevator attendant. He would even stop each time outside to the guy selling soda's and water in front of the courthouse. He would ask for a coke then get out a large bill and hand it to him and tell him to keep the change. Then he would hand the soda back to him. The vendor would stop and pray for him right there. I know enough Spanish to know that he asked God to help Joe win all his cases and in my case, God was listening. It was great to see Joe interact with everyone. It made me know I had the right attorney working for me. Thank you Joe for all your help. You and your entire staff are AWESOME and it was a pleasure to work with you.
