Big win many years ago

I owe Kelly an apology that I didn't provide a review for so many years. My case was led by Kelly many years ago. Kelly represented me in suing a big company for discrimination in the workspace. I talked with a couple of attorneys before talking with Kelly. I chose to work together with Kelly. Kelly was a very passionate lady and provided strong support to me in those hard days. The case was finally settled out of court. I got my justice! Recently I called her again. Seems she has hired employees working with her. I wish the best for her and strongly believe Kelly is one of the best attorneys who fight for employees!

Kelly Y. Chen graduated from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She has experience in labor and employment law and has worked tirelessly to empower traditionally underrepresented individuals in California. Ms. Chen opened her law practice immediately after graduating from law school in 2007 with the hopes of fighting for the rights of employees, particularly low-wage and immigrant workers, as well as those in the LGBT population. She is highly knowledgeable in employment law and is fluent in Mandarin-Chinese and conversational Taiwanese.

Ms. Chen is a graduate of the original Trial Lawyers College (TLC) where trial lawyers are taught to be authentic in representing the rights of the people. In her own words: “I see you. Your pain is real. You matter to me. You have a human story.”

While in law school, Ms. Chen was a member of the Hastings Civil Justice Clinic. She received numerous awards and honors as a law student, including the California Employment Lawyers Association Diversity Scholarship, the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Prior to law school, Ms. Chen obtained her M.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, as well as a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine with honors.

She was recognized as one of the Super Lawyers' Southern California Rising Stars from 2012-2018 and has been selected as a Super Lawyer from 2019-2022.

Helpful

She was very helpful and truthful about my situation. I wish she could have taken it on but my other attorney Apparently did me a disservice by the way he stepped aside at a crucial time which has left me hanging . Kelly told me to keep trying to find another and not give up

Compassionate, intelligent and hard working.

Ms. Chen is an excellent attorney. From the onset, she was very attentive and helpful. She always answered all my questions and explained thoroughly the processes we would be undergoing over the course of my case. I always felt she had my best interest in mind and trusted her judgment and expertise on the matters in my case. Exactly the kind of person I needed for my case!

From start to finish, Kelly was sympathetic, smart, and great at communication. This was my first time using an employment lawyer - hopefully I’ll never need one again, but if I do, I have been ruined for all other lawyers because Kelly is the best! The best!

Hello, I am a repeat client with kelly Chen. My experiences with her have been very positive. Kelly did a great job at collection information for my cases and knowing what to do with the information. Kelly’s attention to detail is amazing. Kelly also had strong/ consistent communication throughout my cases. She also works very fast, I got very quick returns on both of my claims. I accredit these quick results to Kelly Chen’s expert knowledge and experience in workers rights. Furthermore, she takes time to explain situations I may not fully understand. This made me feel safe and in good hands. After my cases closed kelly kept in contact and continued to give me legal advice if I needed it. She is really for the workers and maximizing the return. Very satisfied

I was very stressed out dealing with an awful contractor for over a year. Kelly was terrific; she proves that she has the experience and expertise to get the results. In addition to receiving settlements from the contractual breach, she also got the contractor to compensate for punitive damages. I highly recommend Kelly for her patience and expertise.

Cares about clients

Ms. Chen really cares about her clients. When she helped me with my case, I always felt like she took the time to explain things to me. She really fought hard for me and my case. I'm so grateful that I found her to represent me. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
