Steven Gregory Pearl

Steven G. Pearl is a mediator and attorney in Los Angeles, California.  He is principal of The Pearl Law Firm and focuses on wage and hour litigation, class actions, unfair competition, consumer protection, and business and real estate litigation. 

Mr. Pearl is co-author of "Litigation: Plaintiffs' Perspective" in California Wage and Hour Law and Litigation, published by Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).  He authors the "California Wage and Hour Law Blog for Employees" () and the "Mediation and Negotiation Blog" (). 

Mr. Pearl is frequent speaker on dispute resolution and wage and hour law topics.  Mr. Pearl has spoken at the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) Annual Advanced Wage and Hour Seminar (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010); the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA) Annual Employment Law Mediation Training Conference (2008, 2009); the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Annual Labor and Employment Law Symposia (2007, 2009); and the Southern California Employment Law and HR Forum (2009).  

Mr. Pearl serves as co-chair of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA) Wage and Hour Committee.  Mr. Pearl serves as principal organizer of CELA’s Annual Advanced Wage and Hour Seminar and serves on the Planning Committee for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Annual Labor and Employment Law Symposium.  

Mr. Pearl earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from the University of California at Berkeley and was a Dean’s Scholar at the University of California Hastings College of the Law.  He served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Fern M. Smith, Judge of United States District Court, Northern District of California, and was an associate at a prominent national law firm before opening

his own law firm in 1994.  

Mr. Pearl used to enjoy competitive sports, rock climbing, mountaineering, and travel. Now he has three kids and has moved on to more sedentary pursuits, such as blogging.  More information is available at .
