I'd like you to meet the attorney who changed my life in the most wonderful way.

Seven years ago, I had an idea for something that would reinvent and revolutionize the way we experience mobile entertainment. It was a complicated system of software for smartphone apps and the internet that did things that had never been done before. As a matter of fact, it required envisioning wha...t a smart phone would be and how it would work based on pure intellectual speculation. Naturally, I wanted to protect my Intellectual Property so I could capitalize on it. I spoke to more than a dozen patent attorneys, all of whom said there was no chance I would ever get a patent on my invention. Then I met with David Hoffman. He was the first IP attorney who could envision the potential in something he had never seen before. He liked the idea and believed that I had a good chance of prevailing. Throughout the years we have worked together, David was diligent and kept me on track to meet every deadline. He helped me stand up to every challenge. In short, he became vested in my success and treated my project as if it were his own. In the end, I was awarded a US Patent for my invention and a subsequent continuation patent. Now, we are working on another continuation patent that further expands the possibilities of my invention. Working with David Hoffman has been a remarkable experience. He has my highest recommendation. Better yet, he's got me thinking about what I want to invent next! Go ahead - talk to other IP attorneys. At the end of the day, sign on to work with David Hoffman - the best advocate an inventor could ever have.

Aqua Performance Inc.

David Hofffman is a bright patent attorney who is very knowledgeable in patent applications and infringement . He has written all our patents and continues to be our patent attorney. We have received many compliments from patent attorneys of major corporations such as Yamaha Motor Corp., Bombardier... Recreational Products Inc., Kawasaki Motor Corp. (who are currently our customers) to the fact that they are not able to get around our patents due to how well they are written. Our business continues to thrive due to our patents. I continuously recommend David to people looking to patent their ideas. My advice to anyone looking to patent their ideas is choose your patent attorney wisely because your patent is only as good as it is written.

Extremely smart, clearheaded, goal-oriented for YOUR goals, great value for cost

I first hired David because he was an MIT grad. Having also graduated from MIT I know there is a special kind of intellectual culture and quality rarely found anywhere else. But a lawyer (even a patent lawyer) must have a lot more that a great mind--in fact a great mind alone may often be an impedime...nt to a patent lawyer. The law profession requires not just mental ability and detachment, but an unusual "intuitive" faculty, gamesmanship and a lot of experience with both "good" and "bad" folks in all positions and situations related to the case and goals at hand. I was working with a budget that was really too small to be pursuing 2 broad patent applications, and to complicate matters the Patent Examiner seemed to be throwing "anything he could find" at the claims submitted in both cases. The prosecutions of the patent took an amazing 7 years, during which I had to seriously curtail my expenses, not in the least because the length of time in prosecution was unbelievably long. During this period of time, David also provide counsel on a variety of other legal and contractual matters that occurred. I used David instead of a "regular" business attorney, largely because he exhibited outstanding common sense as well as strategic thinking in helping me deal with various situations in both patent, trademark and international business. When I began having health and financial problems, David did not just "Toss me off", and that has made a BIG difference. The outcome of his trust in me, among other good results, has been the issuance of a significant patent in one field and then the obtaining of good allowed claims (soon to be leading to patent issuance) in a completely different field. David works collaboratively with inventor-clients, which is not always the case with patent lawyers. We evolved an informal method by which I contributed what I could see best about response to an office action, and David and his staff did what was for me the "too hard to do" work dealing with the immense amount of detail required to answer very hard-nosed objections. Working into a "next stage", we are now pursuing ways to monetize the granted patent and the "almost granted" one also. David and his firm have shown great flexibility in terms of both time-limited necessary actions and in tailoring work to the minimum effective amount when budgetary matters predominated over the years. I look forward to continuing to work with David and his great team, and would be pleased to recommend him for any matter in which he himself declares that he is competent to handle it. THIS patent lawyer shines in both ability, experience, ethics and concern for the client's welfare.

"I asked David Hoffman to represent one of my best business clients in an action filed by a patent troll in Texas. Both David's service and his demeanor were excellent. He was patient with the client, determined the most effective way to extricate the client from the lawsuit, and efficiently resolved the case to the client's satisfaction. I would certainly recommend David to anyone for their patent-related needs."

"I endorse David. I've been impressed with David's knowledge of patent law since I began working with him on his litigation matters. He not only knows it, he understands its shadings. His assessments have always had the ring of truth. If you have an invention, want it considered honestly, and want to know how to add to it so that it gets allowed, remember that I brought in my own son to listen to his advice."

"I endorse this lawyer. David is a truly expert intellectual property lawyer. I am currently his local counsel in a case and can see that he is both skilled and strategic. He is diligent and capable of producing highly complex materials very quickly. It is also clear that he provides great service to his client, whose needs always come first. I have also known David since childhood, and therefore know him to be of the highest integrity. He is also one of the smartest people I have ever met."
