Alaleh Kamran highly recommend attorney

Alaleh Kamran is known as being knowledgeable, attentive, compassionate about every case she approaches. For my fathers case she went above and beyond our expectations and did whatever was possible to help his case. As a client we were very informed in every action that was taken place. She was very ...positive and had an amazing sense of humor every time she approached my father. Highly recommended attorney.

Beyond an Attorney

At the lowest point of my life, something even lower took me to the pits of my existence. I attempted to take my own life and instead woke up in a jail cell not knowing what in the world is going on. Not only I was alive, I had bought myself a drug charge, DUI, and a 45-day jail time. Some would say... that I was lucky, but all I wanted was to end it all. In a daze, I searched for someone to represent me. But who in the world would understand the despair, misery, and the desperation that took me to that point of my life? 2 days out of jail and I was bombarded with over a hundred “Jail Mailers", cards, CD’s, and they all sounded wonderful. I made a few phone calls and no one seemed to understand the pain that I had to endure to drive myself to suicide. I even got laughs and chuckles. With a wrecked car still at the impound, a job in jeopardy, parents with broken hearts, life ruined, I searched for representation. By the recommendation of my mother, we walked into Alaleh Kamran’s office in Encino. Going up the elevator, I thought to myself that this cannot be the person representing me. This is the same exact building that I had been to so many times with the person whom I almost took my life for. So many memories rushed over me. Pain, anger, despair, and a thousand and one unanswered questions. All I was thinking is that I still have some unfinished business to take care of and as soon as I feel a little bit better, I will finish the job I started last week. I could still smell him in the lobby and the elevator and I couldn’t even bare to tell my mother why even the building was making me cry. As I was waiting to see Ms. Kamran, her Associate, Dawn Dunbar greeted me. We walked over to the conference room and I was thinking that “This place is not for me and why am I talking to someone that is not even my attorney and why is this Kamran lady not even here”? A few minutes later, Ms. Kamran walked into the conference room and all I was thinking is that “Who are you people? None of you will ever know the pain. Who in the world will ever be able to tell my life better than me to the judge or the jury that I will most likely be facing soon”? In the space of ten minutes, I see Ms. Kamran in tears and genuine empathy with me. Understanding why I still had my car at the impound, when all the other attorneys that I had spoken to advised me to take it out so I don’t pay an arm and a leg in fees. I knew there was evidentiary value in that when at least five other lawyers said that it doesn’t matter. My suicide letters, the drugs, the bowl, the roll of paper towels, the seat that was still down, the key that was still in my purse, everything that proved my innocence were all still there. When I saw her in tears about my story, I knew that she is the one that will represent me. Even though I was ready to sign my contract and retainer with her, she still asked me to take a day and sleep on it, knowing that I had hundreds of others that I could have easily went with. I came home and made up my mind that no matter what the result, at least I want someone that has a heart and can appreciate the misery of my life. For the small amount of fee that she asked for, I feel like she gave me a VIP treatment. Even respecting my so-called intelligence, to allow me to speak directly with the District Attorney of my case to explain my desperate situation to. Maybe I have not been around any criminals or have never been ran through the criminal justice system, but I still think that it is not the run of the mill daily practice for the “criminal” to sit in an office facing his/her DA, telling them their life story. But she made that happen. Numerous times she reminded me that I am here for a reason and I need to believe that. She believed in me when I did not. And through it all she stood by me. Slowly but surely, not only being my attorney, she became my guardian angel and a true friend.
