Andrew is your guy :) [ME/CFS EXPERT, NICE HUMAN, WINS CASES WITH INTEGRITY AND CARE]
SHORT VERSION. Stop your search. Andrew is your guy. He is sharp, dedicated, strategic, articulate, and a top notch communicator (verbally and written). Not only is he a seasoned, skilled lawyer with the speed, backing, and resources of a large firm…he’s also a really nice guy with a big heart. He’s upfront, always thinking a few steps ahead, lays out potential scenarios, and prepares you for the unknown. We couldn’t ask for a better balance in representation. Andrew is confident without being cocky, nice but equally comfortable going on the offensive, puts you at ease by being patient and a great listener but can also get right down to business, and treats your money like he would his own. Andrew is a straight shooter who does business the way it should be done….he focuses on helping people and doing right by them which results in happy clients that share and sing him praises. Thanks to him, my Long Term Disability benefits were recently reinstated. Thank you Andrew for helping us...we can't thank you enough!!
**LONG VERSION for anyone who wants to read more... we don't usually write reviews but we felt compelled to because it is the least we can do for: (1) Andrew as a small token of our appreciation and (2) to pay it forward for anyone else that finds themselves needing representation to receive/reinstate the LTD benefits they deserve.
After LOTS of reading, research, and scouring the internet for anything we could possibly get our hands on to get "smart" on LTD Appeals, we came to realize that the cards are stacked in favor of insurance companies. That means we, those trying to get benefits, are always the underdogs. For those trying to prove that you need and deserve LTD benefits for an invisible and poorly understood illness like ME/CFS, only makes for an even harder uphill battle that sometimes almost seems truthfully unwinnable. It is not. You can do this but get really good help.
Upon realizing the steep uphill battle ahead, we found Andrew after specifically directing our search to find an ERISA lawyer who really understood ME/CFS and had successfully represented others. In our search, we came across 3 lawyers in the nation w/ this specialty. After meeting with each, it was clear that Andrew was the most skilled, had a keen understanding of ME/CFS, and that we would “feel” the best by working with him (which is always important but arguably exponentially important for those dealing with ME/CFS as the emotions can have an exceptionally high cost when you are pulling from a small energy envelope). Andrew is warm, understanding, empathetic and puts you at ease. In fact, everyone we have spoken with at Kantor & Kantor is super nice, helpful, and a class act :) A special thanks to Sommer, Tatiana, and Glenn!
The other firms touting ME/CFS expertise seemed to center their case around heavily leaning on a strategy of trying to get you seen (not treated) by the MOST number of ME/CFS doctors and tests to weigh in and validate the same exact information. Why is this not ideal? It's REALLY expensive, doesn't focus on getting you better, and can backfire. Instead, we preferred Andrew's approach of being selective to utilize experts and completing testing to deliver the most impact as possible ...and then hiring an attorney that has the expertise to do the heavy lifting and make our case.
We are hopeful that ME/CFS will be better understood, recognized, and treated in the future as more funding and attention is directed to research in parallel with long COVID. Until then, know that you don't have to go at this alone. Take care and arm yourself with as much objective medical data as you can, don't lose faith, do your research, and call Andrew (there's a reason he has been recognized by Super Lawyers, been named a Rising Star, and is so highly rated on Avvo). Wishing you all the best in your journey, health, and case or appeal!!
