Karthik Krishnan

I recently engaged Karthik to handle a case that involved out of state coordination as my son no longer lives in the state of California. Karthik did a great job in coordinating the pre-appearance documentation that was necessary in order to obtain a speedy resolution with a very reasonable outcome.... The day I was flying out of LA to move, I was pulled over and arrested, and charged with DUI. I was not under the influence of anything - my breathalyzer was "0". The evidence was police observations of my driving, and the report of a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) who failed me on part of the Field... Sobriety Test. I contacted Shouse Law Group from web research because they provided the best information about DUI Drugs. Mark Russ was exceptionally helpful and spent a lot of time walking me through the case and options. Karthik was assigned to me because of his connectedness in the SF Valley courts. I DO take medications, which I had unintentionally packed and shipped two days prior. I did some research on this, and it turns out I was experiencing a medical condition that produced some of the same symptoms. When the UA came back, the results completely refuted the DRE's report; but one of the meds caused a false positive for another substance. I was able to get my doctor to write a letter confirming all of the above - which SHOULD have been enough to get the charges reduced (at the least). The prosecutor felt otherwise, based ONLY on the observations of my driving. Karthik kept pushing back with the objective evidence, even going to the prosecutor's supervisor, who agreed with him. While I'd originally been prepared to accept a lesser criminal plea, Karthik got the charge reduced to a simple speeding ticket - with no fine, because I'd spent a day in jail. This case is an atypical DUI Drugs case - but my guess is that many people like me are convicted because they don't go this far. This is a young, aggressive law firm, and they got results for me.

I was charged with possession of narcotics on federal grounds, which is a felony. I had given a ride to a "friend" to see her boyfriend that is currently in jail, and as soon as I drove onto the jail grounds and parked, the cops pulled up and asked to search my car because my windows were tinted (the...y were looking for any excuse to search my vehicle) and I had less than a gram of marijuana in my purse as well as a marijuana pipe. I didn't rememeber that I had both items in my purse, I clearly wouldn't have brought them onto jail grounds if I had known. Although in California this would have been as little as an infraction if I had been stopped any where else, but because it was on federal grounds, it was a felony. Truly bad luck, along with making bad choices that ultimately landed me in Lynwood jail for two days. My parents and I met with just two different law firms, and decided to go with Mr. Krishnan. He was calm, friendly, and professional. We went to my first court date, knowing it was just arraignment and that the only thing that would happen is the setting of my next court date. Luckily, the judge took over an hour to come to the court room, so in the mean time, Mr. Krishnan spoke to the prosecuting DA. He somehow worked his charm and convinced the DA that it was a dumb mistake, told him I had no priors and showed the medical marijuana card I got after the arrest. The DA agreed to completely drop my case if I completed 80 hours of community service within 3 months. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am for Mr. Krishnan. He is the reason I will have a normal life again, when I was so worried that the next 7-10 years of my life would be ruined because of this felony. I highly recommend him and am forever in his debt.
