I have practiced law for over 40 years, primarily in the civil courts and, for the past 23 years, specializing in representation of employers.
Professionally, my firm is dedicated to helping businesses develop strong workplace legal basics for sound growth. Our legal services include educational steps, effective counseling on positive resolution of disputes, and result-oriented litigation defense.
I am proud to count as my mentors some of the most skilled and accomplished litigators of their time. My earlier litigation experience was in securing constitutional freedoms and, indeed, the very survival of the churches of Scientology in the 1980s and 90s.
Along the way, I have also helped establish several non-religious social service groups now thriving and expanding to bring improved conditions in important sectors. This includes Narconon International, a leading drug rehabilitation organization, and Applied Scholastics International, fighting illiteracy worldwide.
Starting in 2005, I devoted a substantial amount of my time pro bono as Director for International Development, Youth for Human Rights International. Along with a dedicated group of young African community leaders, we created the African Human Rights Leadership Campaign, now in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Togo, and Ethiopia.
Since 2014, I have helped to create the African Literacy Project for Applied Scholastics International, to implement effective, competency-based education in Liberia and throughout West Africa.
Our Southern California office is in "Old Pasadena," overlooking the Tournament of Roses' annual parade route along Colorado Boulevard (the famous Route 66).
By consistent delivery of quality legal services, we continue to enjoy steady expansion regardless of any transitory or prevailing economic trends.

Bowles office provided us with the original arbitration agreement we have every employee sign, which helped us to successfully push a frivolous suit against us in NJ to arbitration. After we won the arbitration, the party attempted to vacate the arbitration in California court, and Tim's team succes...

Tim Bowles and Cynthia Bamforth were extremely helpful with legal advice on several matters. We received an exchange in abundance from this legal firm.

Until November of last year when I retired, I was CEO of my own Financial Services Firm which employed approximately 65-80 staff at various times. For almost 20 years we used the Law Offices of Tim Bowles for all our Employment Law Needs. Our experience was excellent. Tim and his staff are knowledg...
"I found Mr. Bowles to be a tough, ethical, compassionate attorney. He was a true professional and a pleasure to work with."
"Tim and I were partners in a law firm in the early 1990's. Since that time he has built an extensive practice in representing employers, both defending them against claims and assisting them to prevent claims through proper procedures and practices. I am now working as Of Counsel to his firm. Tim consistently cares about the clients he is representing and works towards results that will be best for their interests. His extensive knowledge in the area of employment law is a major plus for the clients who hire him and can be sure they are getting excellent representation and advice in resolving disputes and setting up their companies correctly in order to avoid having problems. I highly recommend him to any employer who needs help in employment law matters."
"I have had the pleasure of working with Tim for at least 10 years. When I was in-house counsel for a start-up company, I consulted with Tim on a variety of personnel-related matters to excellent result. We have since worked together on many legal matters and I am continually impressed with his knowledge, thoroughness and results-oriented approach. I recommend him for any employment law matters."
"I have known Tim Bowles for over 20 years, having worked with him in the 1980’s and having kept in touch with him since then. He exemplifies the work ethic, intelligence and attention to detail that characterize the very best civil litigators in greater Los Angeles. Tim’s specialty is employment law defense, i.e. defending employers in wrongful termination, harassment and wage & hour cases. He is one of the most informed and professional attorneys in greater Los Angeles in this type of law. Further, because he manages his own firm and has kept his firm “lean and mean,” he can offer legal services easily competitive in quality and competence with the “tall building” employment defense firms while keeping the costs and fees reasonable. I highly recommend Tim Bowles and his firm to anyone who requires counsel or litigation services in the area of employment defense law."
"I have known Tim for many years and think highly of him. His work is consistently of superior quality. His office operates with a great degree of integrity, showing regard for his clients. He achieves results."
