When we were interviewing potential immigration lawyers, we had already settled on one, but had already scheduled a consultation with Irma that we didn’t want to cancel. Her approach to the initial consultation changed our minds. Even her first email reply to our inquiry was detailed and specific t...o our case. The crucial factor, though, was the fact that during the consultation, she spent the first 10 minutes or so asking detailed questions about our situation. To me this showed that she was interested in us and keen to give accurate advice, in contrast to other lawyers we talked to who took a more casual approach and gave us their spiel. This was an early signal of what we came to appreciate as one of Irma’s greatest strengths: she listens—whether on the phone, on a video call, or in email exchanges. The US immigration visa application process is a convoluted one, and we had the added anxiety of immigration politics and the pandemic. So we had many questions along the way. Irma always answered all of our questions in a way that was comforting but realistic. Her replies truly made me think “She is really listening to us.” The visa interview itself is of course the most nerve-wracking point in the process, but Irma thoroughly prepared us. First, she answered our constant questions about what evidence to bring to the interview. Second, she put together a final packet that we could print out and insert original documents at specified bookmarked places. Third, we had a meeting with her where she went through the interview process in great detail so we would know as exactly as possible what to expect. During the interview, the visa officer even commented on how organized we were. We are looking forward to working with Irma again when it is time to apply for US citizenship!

I made an AVVO account just to leave Irma a review as it is hard to find a good lawyer. She helped my husband and I with some complicated immigration issues to ultimately a citizenship. It was a 3 plus year journey or so but the entire time she was amazing. She calms your nerves but most importantly ...she is extremely professional and knowledgeable.
