also known as Christian Cooper
Christian Cooper graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 1998 with a degree in Spanish and international relations. Prior to attending Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, he produced and edited on-air features and the websites for two nationally syndicated public radio shows, was involved in the launch of (now the top-rated Spanish-language website in the country) and was a writer and editor for the Recording Academy, which produces the Grammy Awards and Latin Grammys.
Christian was the president of Loyola’s gay/straight alliance and competed in the first-ever National Sexual Orientation Moot Court Competition at UCLA. While at Loyola, he clerked at the HIV & AIDS Legal Services Alliance, Lambda Legal, the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office.
After graduating from Loyola, he accepted a research fellowship at the Williams Institute, a think tank on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy at the UCLA School of Law. While there, he conducted a multilingual study of HIV discrimination in dental care in Los Angeles County and compiled data from throughout the country on employment discrimination based on sexual orientation.
After completing his fellowship at the Williams Institute, he moved to San Francisco, where he quickly involved himself in San Francisco politics by serving as treasurer for a candidate for the Board of Supervisors. Christian practiced law with one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the city, appearing in courts throughout the Bay Area.
In 2010, responding to the economic meltdown, Christian switched his focus to working with homeowners facing foreclosure, and others impacted by the economic collapse. He currently practices bankruptcy law, working with debtors to get a fresh start in their finances, and, where possible, help homeowners behind on their mortgages work out being able to stay in their homes.

"Christian really knows how to take care of his clients and make them feel comfortable during trying times. I have known Christian since law school and feel comfortable recommending him to anyone considering chapter 7 bankruptcy."
"Christian is a skilled and professional Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy attorney. Bankruptcy does not need to be scary, yet most people find it to be a grueling and tiring emotional journey. It is best to find an attorney who appreciates this feeling and can remain patient and helpful as the debtor makes the transaction into a debt free lifestyle. I have worked with Christian personally and I know Christian has spent thousands of hours working with low-income debtors and others who are truly struggling emotionally with the difficulties of weeding through their financial underpinnings. He answers his client's phone calls promptly and will never pass you off to a paralegal or clerk. People looking for an attorney can trust that Christian will manage their affairs in a competent and professional manner."
"I have known Christian for a couple of years now and I have found him to be a very capable and empathetic attorney. I would not hesitate to refer my friends, family and clients to him for bankruptcy issues."
"I endorse this lawyer. Christian oversees and supervises my volunteer work at Public Counsel, among other great work that he does at Public Counsel. We assist indigent debtors in filling out bankruptcy forms and in advising them regarding same. Christian is friendly, knowledgeable and gains instant respect from both the attorneys and the Debtors due to his informed responses, his friendly demeanor and expertise. He is a pleasure to work with and I always look forward to my volunteer work with him."
"Christian is smart and detail-oriented. He has demonstrated a commitment to assisting individuals in need of financial help."
"Mr. Cooper is an excellent attorney whom I hold in high regard. He is professional, courteous, and goes the extra mile to help his clients achieve their goals."
