Luis Santiago Valencia

I hired Mr. Santiago after a friend referred me to him. Although he provided a lot of information, I was in for a surprise. He was quick to accept me as a client as well as disregard me as a human being after he was paid. I will give him this, he did give me the time of day when I was making my payme...nts. My case was at the federal level, with my future on the line; I wanted to make the best decisions without much impact to my current life. Mr. Santiago did not go over critical information within my pre-indictment report. He also failed to show up with me to my pre-sentence interview as lawyers normally do. Did I mention he did not file stipulation of factual basis before sentencing? I did not find that out 'till the judge asked for it on my final court date. Mr Santiago and I signed a contract which was lost, so a new contract was written up. Mr Santiago has failed to live up to conditions within that contract. Only after a reminder that we're bonded by a contract with specific terms, he decides to comply. To show my discontent, I plan to file a formal complaint to the State BAR along with a witness I took with me to court who can file another on his behalf. Perhaps a few sites where actual verified clients can share their thoughts. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate a solid 2.

While I was deployed Mr. Santi had my full trust to always appear in court while I was gone. He never let me down and never gave up trying to contact me, even though it was difficult at times. He helped me when I thought no one else could. Having tremendous tact and patience, Mr. Santi aggressively p...ushed my case even when some would see as a "no brainer." After a brief period of time the case was won and dismissed. With Mr. Santi's hard work and dedication, he has accomplished much more then what people see. I highly recommend Mr. Santi to any person seeking legal advice/help.

I do not want to remember the experience. I will say that Santi, he does not go by Luis, was the only attorney out of 7 other attorneys (some private others appointed by the court) that made every court appearance. Most of the others would simply ask Santi to stand in for them. My brother received... a sentence that will bring him home to us within the next few years (we pray all goes well). I noticed the jealously that surrounds this guy. It seems that so many other lawyers know him but also resent how many clients the guy has. The only word to describe him is humble and down to earth. When we had a hard time keeping up with the payments during Christmas this man told us not to make another one until tax time, who does that! He visited my brother often and truly seemed to care. We called him as late as 10 p.m. sometimes. I do not believe any bad review of this attorney and after having read some of the "perfect scores" other lawyers had, I knew- a lot of people write their own reviews. This is from the heart, if your family members are in trouble ...call him and be considerate, write this lawyer a review and let the people know what your experiences are.

I retained Luis Valencia to represent my son in a criminal case in West Court, Orange County. What first impressed me about Luis was his appearance: sharp suit, Rolex watch, crisp shirt and tie. He is a former Marine and it shows. Meet him and judge him yourself. My son was offered by the D.A. ...6 years and two strikes after having injured a police officer in a fist fight and a gun charge was alleged. The judge in West Court agreed with the district attorney and also offered six years. Luis said it would take time to get the case out of West Court and into Central. Luis fought this case for almost one year; his fees were reasonable, he was compassionate and he worked out a reasonable payment plan. I could call him on his cell phone- he would answer my phone calls or call back that day. He always said, “if you can’t sleep, call me, if you have a question I am right here and I am sorry you are suffering, but keep in mind I am here.” When the case was transferred to Central court I was glad to see what Luis was capable of doing. It did seem like he knew everyone, and when I asked he simply said, “we all work here-everyone knows each other.” The guy was so humble- really. In what seemed like an endless meeting, Luis convinced the D.A in central court to drop the gun charge, lower one of the counts and my son signed two years- not six. Luis went to jail regularly and visited my son, never missed or was late to a court date, and even called me when I was late. I still talk to Luis from time to time. If not for the hard work, and I mean hard work by Luis my son would still be in Prison. I remember my son’s first Public Defender telling me that my son should take the six years or things would get worse- thank God for Luis! I wrote this review because I was very pleased with Luis’ work; I personally do not believe any of the negative comments because they are so inconsistent with what I experience with Luis for almost one year. It is very sad to see how far people are willing to go in order to blame anyone but themselves for ending up in criminal court.
