Me and a friend had gotten into a fight with another guy. He ended getting pretty messed up, broken nose, and a fractured eye socket. We ended getting arrested at the scene and goin to jail. I bailed out the same day, my friend stayed in jail. I didn't think much of it because it was my first time be...ing arrested unlike my friend. They were charging me with felony assault and battery with intent to do serious bodily harm. This carried a maximum 8 year sentence for each. Now I was extremely paranoid and scared. I started with a court appointed attorney (public defender) and at first was perfectly fine with that because it was only a fight in my eyes. So I'm out on bail and my friend is still in jail. Fast forward about six months I get my first offer of 4 years. I guess eager to get it over with my friend accepted first offer. Why? I have no clue. This looked bad on me because we were on the same paperwork. Instantly, I fired my public defender and found my hero and savior Bruce McGreggor. He was very professional, and very understanding when it came down to my financial situation. The whole time I had the feeling of someone who generally cared. It was almost like talking to a father figure or a mentor when talking to Bruce. The way they treated me when I walked in the court room with Bruce compared to my public defender was night and day. The judge actually made eye contact and her overall tone was totally different. Bruce walked in suited and booted and pretty much knew everybody including the prosecutor and the D.A for years. Long story short I didn't get 4 YEARS IN JAIL. I didn't do any jail time at all. I got 3 years probation with 500 hours community service. I could not be more thrilled with Bruce McGregor as my attorney. Just a brief review of my case: I was being charged with two felony charges and a misdemeanor.
