Scam Scam Scam

I have been paying for a bankruptcy service for the past five months and nothing has been done. Collectors are contacting me. No case or any sign that any has been done. Collectors have not received anything from the law firm. If this is truly a Law firm. Feels like a scam. They get paid for nothing....

Because you left this as anonymous I am unable to look up the details of your case. However, generally speaking, as is fully explained and you get an email with the same instructions the day you hire the firm, we are not filing your case at the time you start to pay the fee but once you have paid the fees in full and turned in all required documents. Upon hiring the firm and starting the payments, which it sounds like you have, we spent time on the phone with you actually completing the first draft of your entire bankruptcy petition and schedules. During that same call, we would have pulled your credit report and emailed you specific letters that you were to mail to each creditor, and then send us a picture of those, to make the creditor calls stop. You also received email instructions, and were told, that if creditors still contact ed you after that to report such calls to [email protected]. Lastly, you have a full email with the contact phone number and email of every department in the firm, including the direct number of your attorney, so if you ever had questions about the status of your case or of what has been done, the appropriate thing to do would be to contact us instead of jumping online and writing a bad review.

Awful experience

Terse, rude, treated me like I was beneath him, did not answer calls or emails, ignored my request to cancel services (via email as he had verbally instructed me to do) only to continue charging my bank twice monthly, and then refuse to refund what he owed.

A time waster

It's been quite an ordeal working with this law firm. I have been trying to file for the past 8 months but each time I'm told everything is ready, another delay is thrown my way. My recommendation is to find a local firm that is willing to file on your behalf in a timely manner. Update. Another mo...nth has passed and yet still no filing, I've only heard excuse after excuse about why my bankruptcy has yet to be filed. Often I am asked to resend documents that they already have but refuse to locate. This never-ending ordeal started in earnest in November and it is now August. Do better

I thought wrong

I thought this would be a great lawyer. I needed to file bankruptcy and have my paperwork filed before the fees were finished being paid for. I asked specifically if my filing would take place before I was done paying payments. I was told yes by Nicholas and his employees. As soon as I started to mak...e my $100 payments, $200 in and I called to see where my paperwork was in the process. I was rudely told by Nicholas that I have to pay all of my $1800 fees to file and there’s no refunds. He totally lied to me. ! That’s really wrong.

As a general response, we, as bankruptcy attorneys are typically required to collect the fees for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing prior to the case being filed. This is stated during the initial consultation and is found in our retainer agreement. There are some rare circumstances where cases are filed as emergency filings but even in those the case would require the $338 filing fee to be paid before filing. Under no situation would we file, or say that we would file, for $100. However, upon a payment schedule set up with us, which can be as low as $100 per month, we do start work on the case and we pull credit reports (a $30-40 fee per person that we cover) and send notices to the creditors to get them to stop calling. Because of this time and cost put into the case upfront, and simply based on the scheduled payments, it is true that we are not able to refund payments and this is clearly stated (in bold) within our retainer agreement. In the end, I am sorry if the reviewer here felt misled in any way but I am very clear about all of this upfront and it is all put in writing as well.

Cost me because he dropped the ball

Did not handle my case as agreed. Farmed our my case to a "court appointed" "attorney " who did not know anything about my case. Nicholas mishandled my paperwork more than once. Both times blaming his assistants for the errors. He lost me thousands of dollars that I had to pay because his assistants ..."forgot" to file my paperwork even though they were reminded on 4 different occasions to do so. If you are going to deal with him, know you will have to constantly follow up and he may still drop the ball. I have everything in writing and I still got screwed. I lost $3500 because he "missed" sending in paperwork that he was reminded to do over 6 times by 3 different sources.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2023.

Reprimanded issued in NV, 2023

updated on 11/06/2023

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
