Biography

Attorney Renee Mochkatel is a Partner with Allred, Maroko & Goldberg.

Ms. Mochkatel graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona, in 1979 where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude. She then attended Pepperdine University from which she received her Juris Doctorate in 1982.

Ms. Mochkatel represents clients in a variety of employment-related matters such as sexual harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination. Ms. Mochkatel also represents clients in civil rights cases.

As a trial attorney for Allred, Maroko & Goldberg, Ms. Mochkatel has on several occasions been part of the victorious trial team in cases involving unusual sexual harassment in the workplace, her clients received jury verdicts in excess of $1,000,000.

Ms. Mochkatel is a member of and sits on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment section of the L.A. County Bar Association, where she has also served as a guest lecturer. In addition she has co-authored, with Gloria Allred, several articles on employment law for the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

She has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show where she discussed the important issue of equal rights for women.

On behalf of Hollywood Supports/GLAAD, she has presented numerous sexual-orientation-in-the-workplace training seminars for law firms and businesses in Southern California.

In 1998 the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation acknowledged Ms. Mochkatel's outstanding service and commitment in promoting a safer, more inclusive work environment for gays and lesbians.

Not Professional

I contacted Atty Mochkatel although she did have a bad review. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. She called me back from my message and the conversation went downhill really quick. Her tone was very dry and I felt like I was being attacked for sharing my experiences/reason for the call which ...she requested. After feeling very defensive of real experiences I had I stopped our conversation and told her thank you for your time. She sent me an email immediately apologizing for her communication and that her mother was sick. I emailed her back and let her know she should request an associate to assist her when she is unable to perform her duties. I felt she was unprofessional and uncaring. The opposite of what I am looking for. She emailed me again and had her associate call me. However, it is too late. First impressions are lasting ones.

WARNING DO NOT HIRE!!!

WARNING DO NOT HIRE!!! I initially intended to consult with another lawyer at the firm that was unavailable so I was referred to Ms. Mochkatel. Over the phone she seemed very willing and eager to help but when I met with her that was not the case. She was very negative and condescending. She said... I really didn't have a strong case and probably wouldn't get alot of compensation which was fine with me but to her it seemed pointless when to me it was about right and wrong. I thought lawyers were supposed to be positive and uplifting? When the meeting was over she told me she would consult with her colleagues and give me a call the next day. I never heard from her again and I even called twice leaving messages. Instead I had to email her and request she send my paperwork back to me so that I could look elswhere for representation. The worst experience I've ever had with a lawyer!!!
