My building had a pipe burst and there was a huge flood. The city was called due to negligence of recovery and repairs from my landlords. An extremely stressful situation to be in. The property was an illegal unit. The city ordered my landlords to vacate the tenants and to pay us all relocation fe...es to move out. City codes were violated and it was an illegal operation. The landlords not only did not cooperate, but also harassed us and in the end unlawfully filed an eviction against me. I called Matthew in the beginning stages of the city complaints. He was incredibly helpful and informative in the beginning as a consult. Most of the lawyers I spoke to were very distracted and fast talking and hardly paid any attention to what I was saying or the details. They were incredibly vague and quick to then shove a hefty hourly rate before I even knew if I needed a lawyer or not. Matthew was the only one who really seemed to listen to my situation and offer me advice on how I could move forward or not. He was very kind and patient, yet professional.
