Not truthful

Basically did no work for me and then didn’t show up to a meeting that he set with the city. And now he kept the retainer fee.

Deplorable

I signed a retainer agreeement with Andy on May 16th, 2023. He was going to send a letter to my landlord about ongoing issues and hopefully resolve. May 16th was a Tuesday and he indicated he'd have the ltr prepared by that Friday. He did not. He indicates he will do the following wk. He did not...., this goes on for 3wks. The crux of our discusssions were me provinding necessary information and then continually asking, now, now, how about now?? On June 7th I terminated the agreement, per the agreement terms. Which indicated you could cancel and get a refund, if not services had been provided. I do NOT understand how this person can claim "services" were provided. When our exchanges were all him telling me he was going to do something and me asking when; until I decided to disengage. I had paid him via Venmo. He refused to do the same. Gave me the "checks in the mail". He then has the gall to only send me 1/2 my money. Claiming "services" were rendered???! It's appalling that a professional, as this person claims to be can conduct himself in this manner. I am baffled that this guy has some good reviews. Kristine

Kristine, you have left out several salient facts are: 1. I am also representing another tenant in your building; 2. Your landlord is a hedgefund, located in San Francisco, which is currently involved in several tenant lawsuits; 3. I had told you that you could greatly benefit by observing where my negotiations went for the other client, especially since I was dealing with landlord's San Francisco-based attorney, rather than with a local attorney; and 4. I did in fact draft the letter but I did not complete it while all of the above was involved. I have a number of excellent reviews because I do excellent work. As I promised, I refunded you the balance of the retainer. Andy Baker Attorney at Law

Impressive

I have retained Mr. Baker on several occasions. He is attentive, efficient and his fee structure is very reasonably. I have recommend Mr Baker to several colleagues and will do so in the future.

A Lawyer You Can Trust

I contacted Andy about illegal construction in my unit (Mid City) and he was extremely knowledgeable about the correct departments to contact and inform. He was straightforward about what he could and could not do, plus his prices were extremely reasonable. For a 24 year old fresh LA arrival, he re...ally saved my life here. I spoke to two other lawyers before Andy returned my call. Andy had by far the best price per hour, and also did not make me feel like a money cow being milked. IE I felt he was trustworthy. End result, I settled out of court with the LL for cash today thanks to his advice. I appreciate that he cared about me first, and took time out of his busy schedule to go above and beyond. I wish I could give him 6 stars and will certainly use him if I have any more tenant problems.

NOT EASY TO MAKE A LIVING THESE DAYS

I contacted, consulted & hired Andy Baker regarding a permit issue w/ the city of LA. Andy was always very knowledgeable & professional on the phone & in person. His fees were VERY reasonable. He accomplished the task which I hired him to do. Since then Andy has given me FREE advice. Andy never ...ever name dropped or pitched pie-in-the sky strategies. I just tripped upon this site & am only commenting after reading earlier misleading posts. I am wondering how many lawyers in different fields these people have spoken to & hired? No lawyer can guarantee an outcome.
