I have to start off by saying that I normally don't blindly trust anyone! I originally hired 2 other attorney's to help fight my case involving securities fraud. When it came down to what I actually needed done, both of those attorney's referred me to Mr. Spertus, that should say something! Before ta...lking with Mr. Spertus I had already dealt with numerous attorneys in my past, from corporate attorneys, securities, real estate, etc. I can truly say that not only was I impressed but I immediately felt that James really was looking out for mine and my family’s best interest. He explained in complete detail what would transpire from day 1 to the end of the case and it was 100% accurate! I have yet to deal or even speak to another attorney that handles his clients with such respect, compassion and transparency! I had the honor of getting to know Mr.Spertus more than three years ago, this is after working with three different attorneys on my case and getting the same response from each one of them "Plea with the Government, they are too powerful and you do not stand the chance" . Mr. Spertus took my case... and supported me all the way during the trial and the appeal process and managed to prove my innocence,. I just do not know enough adjectives to describe his knowledge, compassion and friendship throughout this process. Formerly having worked with the District Attorney's Office as a Prosecutor, he was constantly able to give us insight into the strategies of the prosecution. He simplified difficult concepts and his entire staff treated us as if we were part of their family. If I had to go back and find a criminal defense lawyer to defend someone I love, I would hire Mr. Spertus with absolutely no reservations a million times over.

Mr. Spertus took on my Federal Drug case after 2 other lawyers had done a horrible job. He had a challenge on his hands and some how fought his hardest to try to bring my case and myself where we needed to be. He is not easily intimidated and will truly fight for you. I was facing a 10 year minimum m...andatory and was HATED by the prosecutor he sat with me for months and for long hours to understand every detail of the case. Although, he has many high profile cases he never made me feel like I was not a priority and when it came time to working on my case I had his full attention. Everything was explained thoroughly to me and I was given several options of which route to take. TRUST him he knows best. Being a former Prosecutor he can give you insight from a different perspective and obviously guide you in the best path to take. I trust Mr. Spertus with my life which is what I was facing to loose.
