Excellent experience

To begin with, we had no idea how to apply for my partner’s change of status, all we saw was an insurmountable wall of paperwork, an unresponsive bureaucracy who’s opaque inner-workings were such by design, and the potential of wasting thousands of dollars on a rejected application. At one point, due... to our own administrative filing error, our entire application was rejected; Mr. Bouknight was able to petition a reversal that decision and quickly helped us correct the issue, furthermore he helped us break this gargantuan task of applying for an adjustment of status, into manageable bites. Mr Bouknight’s experience, and frankly, his candor ensured that we felt well informed at all stages of our Green Card application process. His extensive experience meant that there were absolutely no major surprises, and the few that occurred were simply and easily handled on our behalf. Mr. Bouknight, and his team did an excellent job managing our application by clearly and plainly explaining what we were signing, and most importantly where we needed to sign. Requested documentation was often bundled together, and he and his team were extremely quick to respond when we had any questions. Looking back, we also felt that we were presented a realistic, accurate and grounded timeline at the start of the process. Knowing roughly how long this process could take, made it easier for us to plan our lives around it. From our experience, we can say with confidence that Mr. Bouknight, and his team can be trusted to handle any and all of the difficulties related to an adjustment of immigration status. Their knowledge, experience, open-mindedness and general friendly-helpfulness were a vitally needed safe-harbor in dealings with the naturally turbid waters of the US Immigration system. No question too small, or too stupid, our concerns and issues were taken care of and in many cases anticipated and corrected before we had a chance to meet them. We never felt spoken down to, and we never felt disregarded. I would recommend Mr. Bouknight and his team to everyone, for his knowledge, his experience, and for his general handling of us and our concerns.

I had a terrible experience with Wycuie Bouknight!

I hired Wycuie Bouknight in Hawaii 3 years ago where I’ve lived for over 10 years. He asked me to meet him in a cafe in a mall just outside Honolulu. I signed an agreement wrote him a check and then he told me he was moving out of state.( Is it even legal to represent someone out of state?) I wa...s in touch with him once or twice in correspondence to my application and the papers he needed & once I completed all requirements I sent him the entire file. I didn’t hear back from Wycuie for about 2 months & Inintuitively felt something was terribly wrong with my application. I kept calling him and when he eventually did reply he admitted that my application had sat on his desk for over a month forgotten by his secretary. I was desperate to get my application through and begged him politely to pls send it ASAP. I later found out from immigration that it wasn’t submitted till January which would have been 3 months after I had sent it to him! After that incident Wycuie disappeared for a further 8 months without returning a single call so much so that I feared for his life but when I contacted his secretary she simply said he would return my call at his earliest convenience. I had urgent quiries I had to answer to immigration and was desperate to get a hold of him as I also had to move to LA for work so I had to fly to and from LA to Honolulu and tackle the entire case alone. Desperate for support I called again for maybe the 30th time and pleaded with him to call me back. I eventually got a call from him saying that he discovered he had diabetes and was busy with that. I am a doctor and i know that diabetes is not debilitating nor is it time consuming that you cannot answer ancall in 8 months. Again, being so desperate, I simply let it pass and begged him again for support and also spent 2 full hours giving him free instruction on how to heal it completely. Long story short my application was refused because I did not reply to immigration within a 30 day requirement in which time I was desperate to get a hold of him so he could help me reply to them in the proper manner. When I called and told him he refused to take responsibility and refused to help me out any further saying I only paid him to send in my application!!! Really? I just paid him to post in my application? How can this be right? I know I could have easily done that myself! $10,000 & 3 years later of flying to and fro renting apartments cars etc my application is refused and my future as well as my children’s citizenship is jeapatdised because he until today refuses to help me any further without paying him more money!

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I've known Wycuie personally and professionally for about 10 years, on "the other side" when he worked for DHS and as a colleague when he resumed solo practice. As an ICE trial attorney in Honolulu he was reasonable and compassionate. As a solo he's developed a great reputation and he knows his stuff. He's a powerful advocate who thinks outside the box for the best results for his clients."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Wycuie for many years. He used to be an Assistant Chief Counsel for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was a tough lawyer to go up against, but always fair to deal with. He has succeeded in transitioning to private practice. When I talk to him, he has great passion for his clients. He is a great immigration lawyer. He not only has a strong knowledge of immigration law, but his background from working at ICE gives him a unique perspective on his cases. What I like most about Wycuie is that he always has a smile on his face and it's always a pleasure talking to him."
