I would NOT recommend him

I married my husband on May of 2018. Due to his special circumstances, I researched many immigration lawyer in Las Vegas that can help me with the immigration process. I picked Wycuie Bouknight as my lawyer because he had 26 years of experience in immigration law and he was a Chief Counsel for the Im...migration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I had a meeting with Bouknight about our case and he seemed confident that he could make it work. My husband is a convicted sex offender and he falls under the Adam Walsh Act (A law that requires me to prove without a reasonable doubt that he is not a danger to me). He recommended me to get many documentation we needed to help with our case. I provided hundreds of photos, support letters, multiple psychosexual evaluation, completion of behavioral therapy, etc….. We filed for I-130, I-485, and I-765 on June of 2018. Few months later, we got a notice from USCIS for an intent to deny letter due to Walsh Adam issues. We sent in all the required evidence and photos a few weeks later. Now the Issues I have with Wycuie Bouknight: *Very hard to get a response from him (Might takes days… to get a call back) *The angry response he gives you when you ask him about the case time *His knowledge of current immigration law and fees (He asked for employment card application fee-renewal but the fee was returned by USCIS since the cost was $0). He did later return the money after I inquired about the matter. *I was getting a vibe that he didn’t care about our case after he has been paid. *He said he worked very hard on this case, but if you look at his work… (I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER) He literally made 1 paper stating what’s in the paperwork and few sentences on why this case should be approved. Are you freaking kidding me? I can’t believe I paid $5000 for 1 piece of paper and his name… DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE After 2 years later, we finally got a I-485 denied letter from USCIS. I met with Bouknight the following day for consultation. I agreed to file for I-290B since we didn’t receive the I-130 denied letter. On that same day, I received the I-130, so I decided to meet the next day for another consultation. After talking with Wycuie Bouknight, I told him I needed to talk to my husband about the matter since he wanted to file the EOIR-29. After talking to my husband for couple days, we decided we should find a lawyer that has more experience in this matter. We called and let Wycuie Bouknight know that we will be hiring a different lawyer for I-290B and EOIR-29. Hopefully this review will help others in which immigration lawyer they should go with.

I had a terrible experience with Wycuie Bouknight!

I hired Wycuie Bouknight in Hawaii 3 years ago where I’ve lived for over 10 years. He asked me to meet him in a cafe in a mall just outside Honolulu. I signed an agreement wrote him a check and then he told me he was moving out of state.( Is it even legal to represent someone out of state?) I wa...s in touch with him once or twice in correspondence to my application and the papers he needed & once I completed all requirements I sent him the entire file. I didn’t hear back from Wycuie for about 2 months & Inintuitively felt something was terribly wrong with my application. I kept calling him and when he eventually did reply he admitted that my application had sat on his desk for over a month forgotten by his secretary. I was desperate to get my application through and begged him politely to pls send it ASAP. I later found out from immigration that it wasn’t submitted till January which would have been 3 months after I had sent it to him! After that incident Wycuie disappeared for a further 8 months without returning a single call so much so that I feared for his life but when I contacted his secretary she simply said he would return my call at his earliest convenience. I had urgent quiries I had to answer to immigration and was desperate to get a hold of him as I also had to move to LA for work so I had to fly to and from LA to Honolulu and tackle the entire case alone. Desperate for support I called again for maybe the 30th time and pleaded with him to call me back. I eventually got a call from him saying that he discovered he had diabetes and was busy with that. I am a doctor and i know that diabetes is not debilitating nor is it time consuming that you cannot answer ancall in 8 months. Again, being so desperate, I simply let it pass and begged him again for support and also spent 2 full hours giving him free instruction on how to heal it completely. Long story short my application was refused because I did not reply to immigration within a 30 day requirement in which time I was desperate to get a hold of him so he could help me reply to them in the proper manner. When I called and told him he refused to take responsibility and refused to help me out any further saying I only paid him to send in my application!!! Really? I just paid him to post in my application? How can this be right? I know I could have easily done that myself! $10,000 & 3 years later of flying to and fro renting apartments cars etc my application is refused and my future as well as my children’s citizenship is jeapatdised because he until today refuses to help me any further without paying him more money!

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I've known Wycuie personally and professionally for about 10 years, on "the other side" when he worked for DHS and as a colleague when he resumed solo practice. As an ICE trial attorney in Honolulu he was reasonable and compassionate. As a solo he's developed a great reputation and he knows his stuff. He's a powerful advocate who thinks outside the box for the best results for his clients."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Wycuie for many years. He used to be an Assistant Chief Counsel for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was a tough lawyer to go up against, but always fair to deal with. He has succeeded in transitioning to private practice. When I talk to him, he has great passion for his clients. He is a great immigration lawyer. He not only has a strong knowledge of immigration law, but his background from working at ICE gives him a unique perspective on his cases. What I like most about Wycuie is that he always has a smile on his face and it's always a pleasure talking to him."
