Hired Ms. Marr, and she made a first year law student mistake! “Failure To Appear”, she didn’t log in correctly to my court hearing. I lost my last living parent in this case. Go elsewhere if you love your family, I lost mine from her mistake! All other mitigating circumstances would have been di...scussed in court with the Judge. But not even showing up…. If it would have been any other employee of mine they would have been fired sooner. Nice person, but I hired her for showing, up and representing me in court in front of the judge. Not a conversation with me and my spouse that lasted for hours in her office, while our court decision was being made. I would keep looking for attorneys if I were you, her mistake cost me my senior mother.

Attorney Marr Negligence

On Nov 4, 2021, attorney Patricia Marr was scheduled to represent me in family court. As we entered the hearing, the judge made her opening statement and continued the hearing virtually. The judge asked attorney Marr if she read the CPS report, and the attorney replied no because she didn’t receive i...t and continued requesting the judge to reschedule the case. The judge declined, and the attorney then hung up on the judge. Per the judge, Marshell attempted to reach attorney Marr over the phone and was unsuccessful. Finally, on the second attempt, she answers the Marshall and states that she is on trial and can not attend at the moment. The judge upset trails the hearing. I get disconnected from the hearing. I then contacted the office of attorney Marr and spoke with Hannah. I asked to talk to the attorney, and she stated that she wasn’t available. I then explained what happened at the hearing, and she said that attorney Marr did represent me and that attorney Marr would call me that afternoon. I was in disbelieve. The following morning Marr called me and explained that she did attend the hear and what happened at the hearing. I then asked her if she addressed everything that was in the motion, and she said that she would resubmit another motion to handle all the issues introduced in the first motion. Attorney Marr could have addressed my opposition in my first hearing and fail to do so. after, she wanted to resubmitted a motion again and charge me for it. which I believed I shouldn't of been again because of her mistakes. A couple of weeks later, I heard nothing from attorney Marr, and after several attempts to get ahold of her, I decided not to do business with her. Nov 29, 2021, was made aware of my decision, yet she continued representing me without my consent. By signing off on orders made by the opposing party which she didn't agree with.

Contrary to this former client's assertion, I appeared for him via BlueJeans, the internet application used by Nevada courts subsequent to the pandemic. I became disconnected from the hearing but ultimately was able to reconnect and did, in fact, appear on his behalf. When I reconnected the client was gone but the hearing proceeded. Because the client had limited resources I was only retained for one (1) hearing, which I prepared for and appeared for. As I was only retained for a very limited appearance, the Court did not provide me with the CPS records prior to the hearing. Nonetheless, my receipt of the CPS records was not necessary for the hearing - again, contrary to what the former client believes. In any event, the Court made a ruling and opposing counsel was ordered to prepare the order and I was ordered by the Court to sign off on the order. The former client would often call our office and scream at staff, even prior to this hearing and then apologize afterward. In short, everything that needed to be addressed at the time of the hearing was addressed and the Court made a decision, which former client was unsatisfied with. On that basis I agreed to file a motion for the Court to reconsider its decision and drafted the motion. Notably, courts sometimes aren't correct and by way of example, that is why we have appellate courts. Former client wanted work (a motion because he did not agree with the Court's ruling) that he did not want to pay for. Further, the Court ordered that I sign off on the proposed Order from the hearing. Apparently, former client wanted me to disregard a court order as well and not sign the order, even though ordered to do so by the Court. I would not accept to represent this former client again.

Handled a DUI case successfully

Patricia Marr is very competent and knowledgeable. She took care of everything from court dates to dealing with my insurance company. For all the classes I had to do for this DUI I did not have to worry about dealing with the legal part. Her communication with me kept me informed on everything. The o...nly court appearance I had to make was my sentencing and I could not have done it without her by my side.

Fantastic Family Law Attorney

I am a current client and I cannot state how polished and experienced attorney Patricia Marr is. She is a great asset to have on your team and in the courtroom. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a competent family law attorney.

Do Not Recommend

I have recently given up on having Patricia Marr represent me. She and her office is in constant disarray and confusion. I cannot get straight answers from her on simple matters, such as if process service has been completed. When I terminated her it took many weeks for her to turn over my legal fi...les. I was a day from filing a State BAR complaint when I finally received copies. I to this day have never received my original documents. I strongly do not recommend this firm.
