also known as Tiger Whitehead, Bert Tiger Whitehead
Bert Whitehead IV has been practicing law for over 15 years, with a focus on helping families move through divorce and other family law matters with clarity and confidence. As a family law attorney with Lawhive, Bert represents clients throughout Arizona, with a focus on the Phoenix metro area, Scottsdale, and Tempe in Maricopa County, as well as Tucson and the surrounding communities in Pima County. His practice covers divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and enforcement of court orders.
Bert is known for pairing strong advocacy with genuine empathy, helping clients navigate one of the most difficult chapters of their lives while staying responsive and accessible throughout their case. His background in business, including an MBA, gives him a distinct advantage when representing business owners and entrepreneurs going through divorce, where protecting a business's value and continuity is often just as important as resolving the personal matters at hand.
Bert takes a strategic approach to every case, working to secure his clients' rights and interests while identifying practical, efficient paths through the legal process that help avoid unnecessary time, conflict, and expense along the way.
In addition to his Arizona license, Bert is also licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois (inactive).

Never hire this guy
I hired Bert to handle my simple divorce. He was incredibly rude and condesending. I had no idea of the process of divorce and he made the entire time even worse. I would NEVER tell anyone to use him.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm surprised to read this, as I strive to be patient, empathetic, and kind with every client, something reflected in the great majority of 5-star reviews on this website. Based on the description given, this appears to reference our office's consent divorce matter that concluded in July 2025. Since the reviewer chose to be anonymous, I cannot confirm for sure, but there was only one case in this time-frame that meets this description. Because the underlying court docket is public record, I can speak plainly to the timeline: the case was filed on 4/22/2025, and the Judgment of Divorce was entered on 7/22/2025. This is a total of 91 days, start to finish. Michigan law requires a minimum 60-day waiting period before a no-minor consent divorce can be finalized, so this was close to the fastest time the law allows. Two of the hearing dates along the way were rescheduled by the court itself, not by our office, which is a normal and expected part of the court process, not a delay we caused. Throughout that case, our office handled every step: intake, drafting, filing, service, unlimited legal advice along the way, getting e-signatures from both parties, submitting to the court, and advising the client as to what would occur at the final hearing. We did all of this for one reasonable, transparent flat fee that was agreed-to and paid up-front. Every one of the client's stated objectives were met, and all within a very fast 91 days, start to finish. The divorce would have been concluded even faster had the court not rescheduled the hearing date twice. I take real pride in guiding clients through what is often an unfamiliar and emotional process with patience and care. If there are specific concerns about how this case was handled, I'd welcome a direct conversation. Please reach out to our office so we can address it. Lastly, I can understand if a client wishes to express their concerns publicly about an attorney's perceived demeanor of being rude and condescending, if they felt that way. However, given that the client's total objectives were met professionally, completely, quickly, error-free, for a flat-price, and in a court-compliant way, and that the client's divorce was completed in a very fast 91 days, from start to finish, I feel that it would have a little more fair of the reviewer to include these important points about their actual objectives being met. Nevertheless, we will always try to do better, and I thank you for your feedback.

Property case that is in the family name for 74 years.
Mr. Whithehead don't wast your money he's a loser. In many ways . He was our attorney for 3 plus years. Over that period of time unlimited phone calls may 5 times. He never called on his own or asked any questions. We paid him for a trail where we could talk. We never got to say a word on zoom ....
Hi. I am not surprised that this client wrote a poor review, but only because he was not happy with the outcome, and not because we did anything less than an excellent job. At a very affordable cost compared to other law firms (who would have cost well over $20k for the entire case and appeal, and we cost a fraction of that) we took the case through every phase of his defense to keep a very tiny and remote portion of his very large farm property that was the subject of a land survey dispute with a neighbor. At the end of the day, the other party had superior surveys, the lower court and Appeals court felt the law favored the other party's position and surveys, and it is not true that any argument was missed in our appeal, nor did the Appeals court say anything was missed. In a case like this, there will always be a winning side and a losing side, and the losing side will often then feel that their attorney was the problem when in fact many times, as is with this case, the client's problem was that the law and facts were simply not on their side, despite a valiant argument to the contrary. Given how many cases and appeals I have won (many), I am confident in how we handled this case, at much lower costs than typical attorneys. Thank you for the ability to respond.

Top Notch Lawyer
I consulted Bert 5 years ago on my case and was given information that I should have listened to then, I went with a different lawyer which I quickly realized was a huge mistake. Reached back out to Bert several times for a consult and he gladly helped me more times then I can think of. I hope I don'...

"I endorse this lawyer. This lawyer's contributions to this site are invaluable. I happily endorse this lawyer's work, ability and charity to those asking for advice. Further, I like to endorse good lawyers, because I find the AVVO rating system to be dishonest and corrupt. Frequently, disgruntled litigants on the opposing side (not your clients) will bash a lawyer on this site, pretending to be "your" client. When this situation is brought to AVVO attention, Avvo refuses to do anything to investigate and remove the false, slanderous "client" reviews. AVVO is a mean petty internet blog site trying to make money off of lawyers, and does not care if the public receives truthful information."
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Bert Whitehead IV is a great attorney. He is able to provide significant legal services at an affordable rate. I have worked for him and I also feel comfortable sending my own clients to him."
"I endorse this lawyer. Attorney Whitehead is an outstanding attorney with an exceptional reputation. He is a strong and zealous advocate for his clients and a credit to the legal profession. I highly recommend his legal services."
