Joseph L. Hohler III

I am a Kalamazoo native, graduating from Loy Norrix High School and earning my Bachelor's Degree in Public Law from Western Michigan University. I later earned my J.D. from the Michigan State University School of Law. I've also been certified as a domestic relations mediator and recieved a Certificate of Completion in the area Family Law by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Prior to opening my practice I worked for Legal Services of South Central Michigan, where I developed a strong interest in helping family law clients, particularly those who believe a good, reasonable attorney is beyond their means.  

Since opening my own proactice I've had my hand in the full array of family law matters, from divorce to separation to custody to chiuld support.  Occasionally, I take other sorts of cases, helping litigants in landlord tenant disputes, criminal defense and federal appeals.  Most recently I've added 'mediator' to the list of things I do.

I continue to live and work in the city of Kalamazoo because I feel this is a great place to live and raise a family and want to give back in any way I can.  That's why, after law school, when I could have gone anywhere else, I chose to continue raising my family here.  When I'm not working I can usually be found spending time with my family -- more time lately with my wife and son, though, as my daughter recently entered Michigan State University.
