also known as Fowler St Clair PLLC, Ben Kuipers
Benjamin S. Kuipers is a first generation American originally raised in rural Minnesota, and is an Arizona trial attorney focusing on litigation. Mr. Kuipers studied in college under a number of fine professors and contributed to articles published by fellows at the Hoover Institution, and in the Wall Street Journal. Mr. Kuipers graduated college magna cum laude in three years, and proceeded to move to New York City, where he was employed at the country’s oldest economics think-tank, the Foundation for Economic Education.
Following a brief hiatus running a political campaign, Mr. Kuipers attended and graduated law school at Arizona State University. In his undergrad and law school career, Mr. Kuipers was able to study under two U.S. Supreme Court Justices, two state Supreme Court justices (one in Michigan and one in Arizona), and worked as a research fellow in economic history studying the long term impact on federal fiscal policy of the First World War. Following law school, Mr. Kuipers litigated hundreds of cases in Arizona’s trial and appellate courts spanning everything from cases involving a few thousand to fifteen million dollars. With over one hundred bench and jury trials, Mr. Kuipers has a 100% success rate in Arizona appellate litigation. Mr. Kuipers loves the courtroom, and that love is reflected in the individual care he gives each client and case.
When not litigating cases, Mr. Kuipers enjoys spending time bantering about on the finer points of military history, economics, law, and philosophy with his friends, many cousins the world over, and colleagues in the National Guard. Most especially however, he cherishes his time in the mountains with his fellow avid co-sportsman, a devoted Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Being a single generation out of a foreign jungle where the rule of law and civilization itself was under attack from terrorist forces, Mr. Kuipers appreciates the magnificent gift it is to be an American, and has acted in gratitude of this gift by going through the U.S. Army School of Infantry at Fort Benning, GA, and by serving proudly in the Arizona Army National Guard. Mr. Kuipers comprehends the tremendous gift it is to be in a society governed by the rule of law, where the individual's rights are protected and guaranteed against all comers, and he has dedicated himself to working to preserve for future generations those basic principles of limited government which undergird our American system of law, and which are enshrined in our Constitution.

Excellent Communicator
Ben got my class 2 felony charges dropped and got me a class 6 designated plea for which I ultimately served just over 50 days. I was facing 5 years, and I got out with under 2 months, he worked and worked, and arranged a very reasonable payment plan for me. He requires cooperation and client follow ...
Responsibility is a two way street. I know facing all the negative repercussions of one's choices isn't easy, but in life if you don't want to be broken, you have to push through the wreckage of the bad decisions made and find your foundation and rebuild. I'm happy for you to have found yours, and we'll as close as the phone if I can be of any help.

REVIEW
First he took the first plea that the state offered without discussing it with me. Then he withheld the information until I was able to pay him in full. I told him I needed to know what was going on in my case before i paid him anymore money and once he heard that he withdrew. He bad mouthed me to...
First: neither me nor my firm has in fact ever represented anyone by the name of Sarah H in any way, for any case, ever. Second: It is impossible for an attorney to "take a plea" that the State offers without discussing it and having that acceptance approved in writing by their client. I have never accepted any plea at any time without my client's permission and acceptance, in writing. Third: it is unethical for an attorney to withhold a client's file from them on the basis of not being paid. My firm maintains felony files for 10 (ten) years, and they are available for current and past clients within that time. Fourth: one of an attorney's greatest responsibilities is to communicate effectively in a timely way with his or her client. At my firm, we pride ourselves on excellent communication and quick responsiveness for all client inquiries. I have never let a client languish without information about their case merely because they could not make a payment on time. Fifth: attorneys are professionals, and as such, work professionally and are compensated according to the agreed-upon written and signed terms of a retainer agreement outlying the services to be rendered by the attorney and the responsibilities undertaken by the client. When a client fails to abide by the terms of their written and signed fee agreement, often an attorney will file a motion to withdraw from the case. In such a motion, the attorney must by court rule, explain why he or she should be allowed to withdraw from the case. Failure to communicate, cooperate, abide by the terms of the retainer agreement, or because the client is urging an unethical strategy based on deliberately misleading the tribunal are just several of the justifiable reasons for withdrawing. I wish this lady well, but I have simply never had such a client by this name or had any such client in which there was such a fact pattern.
