I was pulled over in Gilbert and arrested for an Extreme DUI and while there were a ton of discrepancies in my stop, I knew it was going to be hard to fight, especially if we went to trial. I knew what I had done was wrong and I would have to suffer the consequences for my poor judgement. Wh...en I first met with Dave, I told him I didn't care if I was charged with the Extreme DUI, I was just absolutely terrified of going to jail & wanted to avoid it at all costs. Dave was upfront and honest and advised that Gilbert is one of the hardest towns to fight DUI's.The prosecutors can be hard to work out a decent plea deal with because they know that jurors are unsympathetic to drunk drivers, regardless if you're someone like myself who works two jobs and has never been in trouble with the law. He stressed that he would try his absolute best to get me the best possible outcome. While he said their goal was to get it completely dismissed, he didn't get my hopes up that I could get off completely because of the laws and what the state could argue in my case. Throughout the case, I saw the plea deal go down from 10 days in jail, to 5 days, to on the day of my pre-trial, 1 day. During our meeting before the pre-trial, he asked if I had any questions and I told him all I was concerned about was spending the day in jail and that's all I was scared about. He left the room and came back 20 minutes later and advised that he was able to get the prosecutor to agree to give me time served for the 1 day as long as I agreed to community service. He genuinely cared about my case and never once pressured or pushed me to go to trial because he knew how tough Gilbert jurors are. Not only was he able to help me avoid jail time, my original charge was significantly reduced. Even the judge at pre-trial was amazed at how much Dave was able to get the sentence down and the judge advised that I was very, very lucky to have such a skilled lawyer because without him, I was looking at 30 days in jail plus double the fines. I had to sit through several cases after mine while the paperwork was processed and it seemed like the defendants all had hired their own lawyer rather than use a public defender and the judge never said to them what he said to us about what an excellent lawyer I had representing me. Dave saved my life and my career and what comforted me the most was that although we came to a plea agreement with the case and I thought that was going to be the end of their services, him and his team are still going to work with me to make sure I meet all the requirements to my sentence and that all the necessary paperwork is sent to the court so that I don't ever have to step foot in a courtroom again.
