Kelly Marie Shaffer

I hired Kelly for custody representation. I put $5,000 retainer which she blew through in several days and I also paid her hrly, which balance was paid in full, on time, by me. She used all my own work, forms, declarations, with nothing new to add to the table. I caught her "dealing" with opposing co...unsel and didn't want to help me whatsoever. In my opinion, she is only in it for the money and how she can over bill clients. She was dishonest with me and when I questioned her on certain things, she got upset with me and closed herself off. I had to start representing myself, which I absolutely did a spectacular job. Now I have fantastic representation and couldn't be happier Kelly is behind me.

Ms. Shaffer represented my case in court and was exemplary in and out of the courtroom. I received what I requested regarding child custody and child support. She is very professional in court and you can tell she is well respected by the judge and her peers. Ms. Shaffer is also very courteous and... friendly. I felt that I could ask her anything and she would take the time to answer any question I had. She's the best there is!

Although personable and prominent in downtown San Diego, I found my experience with this firm less than satisfactory. Half way through my simple enforcement of settlement case Kelly Shaffer raised her rate on me and on multiple occasions made mistakes on my invoices in her favor. My settlement was le...ss than she originally claimed I deserved and her bill was more than double. I do not recommend this firm.
