Annette Cox Sandoval

I was hesitant to write this review b/c I know how this type of lawyer will work overtime to spin the review/message I’m about write. I retained Annette Cox Sandoval’s services for my divorce in May of 2017 & fired her in October of 2017. I was impressed during the initial consult w/ Annette Cox Sand...oval, but after she was retained, she became an extreme advocate for her billing tactics, overly aggressive for payment and cared less and less about me as her client. Tons of meaningless filings were done to drain the retainer; none of those filings were EVER enforced by the court. A gigantic discovery was amassed, which she mandated I provide to the defendant; was lucrative for Annette, but did nothing to bring me closer to a divorce. In effect, for one 15 min appearance before a judge and one 30 min status conference call with the Judge to essentially admonish both Annette and opposing counsel, for being outlandish, I ended up paying Annette Cox Sandoval over $22k. I’m still trying to recover from this financial hardship she created for me! And, trying to figure out how a person hired to represent me for my divorce had such little impact on my case, yet charged such enormous fees? And, I am by no means wealthy at all. I was so disappointed in Annette Cox; every time I’d ask her to clarify her role and/or positions I should take in my case, I ended up being made to feel stupid for asking and being charged a ton of money for asking. Now, I will give Annette credit for one thing: She did a Yeomen’s job staying on top of every aspect of her billing & hiding behind her fee schedule as justification of her fees. But in the end, Annette’s impact is rated as inefficient and ineffective! No thanks to Annette, I’m Finally divorced! But, because her tactics & ineffective positions taken in my case, I’m no better in the end than when it all began. Potential clients all I can say is “Beware”. If you’ve worked hard for every penny you make, have assets you need to protect and stand to lose if your case is handled ineffectively, this may not be the right lawyer for you. Her, “my way or the highway” approach proved to be very costly during my divorce and after! I’m offended there isn’t an advocacy group that hasn’t already shut this lawyer down!

Based on reviews on this site, we contacted this office. We used the intake form provided to us by her paralegal. We e-mailed the form to the address on the form. We called at our appointment time and were told they hadn't received the e-mail, which they had they just had not opened it. They said we ...should have used a different e-mail. So we had made time for the interview and scrambled to get everything they needed, and were told they couldn't do the consultation. Then in an apparent cover up for her mistake Ms. Cox blamed us for being upset and threatened to sue us if we contacted her para legal. Maybe it was a bad day for them, I know it was for us, and they made it worse. She's not a nice person, if she treated us that way, it could be you next.

although i did not retain ms cox, i did have a consult with her regarding the return of my children, i would have done whatever i could pay her fee, because i knew very quickly that she was very knoweledgeable about working with CPS, and how the process worked. But Ms Cox declined to accept me, but s...he equipped me with the knowledge i needed to have my kids returned from cps. She told me exactly what to say to get my court appointed attorney to get in a gear and do her job. She cared about my kids not about the money, and I am forever grateful to her for that. I tell everyone i know about her who is need of a family attorney!!!

Annette was referred to me by a reputable criminal attorney. I was very apprehensive initially because I have been jacked around in the Maricopa Family Court for the last 8years and had hired 4 different attorney over the course of those years! I found that most attorneys are uninterested in you and ...your family and only care about their next invoice being paid. One attorney had even admitted to being a habitual dope user. Dealing with a vengeful ex-husband who makes about 4 times what I do, I found myself broke and desperate for a good attorney who actually returned calls, emails and worked hard on my case! Thats when i found Annette! She was very responsive to my questions, concerns, emails, and phone calls. I was impressed because i even got return texts from her at 10pm, well after her office had closed. Additionally, Annette was extremely knowledgeable and was able to strategize my case which ultimately won me custody and parenting time. During my custody trial, several of my divorced friends who have gone through similar experinces with child custody attended amy trial and were very impressed how Annette was so composed, quick and witty with her questions and bringing out facts relevant to my case. Since Annette has successfully completed my case, I have referred her to a number of other people who are also impressed with her as an attorney! Before you consult with any other attorney, save yourself the time and energy by contacting Annette!
