Outcome not what I had hoped

I also heard they Marilyn was a great attorney. I was married for about 28 years, was hoping I would get at least 28% of my ex’s half million dollar a year income, I didn’t. I helped put him through phd school, stayed home with the kids while he was out of town alll the time and took care of EVERYTH...ING! I did the acre of yard work by my self, was the one who cleaned the garage and had no maid for a 5,000 sq ft home. When I said I did everything I mean it. But, I guess I was not worth 28%. She did not put in the decree his documentation of some the percent of the alimony I am suppose to get so now I just have to take his word on my portion, so frustrating obviously he is not an honest person. He purchased a brand new bmw 2 weeks after the divorce, had plastic surgery, has been on multiple vacations and is building a big brand new home while I am trying to keep my bills paid and flip credit cards to gets points everywhere to be able to take my kids on vacations. I am older, have no skills due to being a stay at home mom and taking care of our family, so I am unable to get a decent job. Marilyn is a nice person but, I don’t feel like I got what I should have. I also feel like if we would have met and had a plan before mediation it many have worked out better. She made me feel like I was already a winner going into mediation but, did. It feel like one after.

Save yourself from regretting what you did by hirering her!

Was told the price of an easy divorce cost and a hard divorce cost so I said we better plan on the hard divorce cost, she told me $4,500.00. I ended up with not even a 1/4 th of what I should have gotten for alimony! I had no vehicle for 4 months, finally after 8 months was able to go get my perso...nal things, 2 hours in my house! The rest of the assets were by law to be split 50/60, well I got 0 of the assets, he got the toyhauler, 2 dirtbickes, 4 4 wheelers, 30 guns, safe that I bought to hold 60 guns, all 4 vehicles, boat, and the list goes on. Mediation lasted 14 hours! He let the neighbors go through my things and take what they want. He had a big blue dumpster delivered and threw away the rest of my personal items, allot of antiques from family members. And that’s just a small portion of what happened! Steer clear of this firm!

I believe this is posted from an opposing party or someone wanting to affect AVVO ratings, as this review is anonymous and no client of the firm has ever expressed any of these complaints. In addition, I have never advised a client to settle in mediation with 0 assets. This clearly is not from a client of the firm.
