Going through a divorce, especially with children, is difficult and overwhelming. Sam was great to communicate, but with a difficult and uncooperative opposing counsel it should have been recognized sooner that they weren't going to cooperate and were just using tactics to run up attorney bills. This should have been stopped sooner. (It was one of the first things my new attorne...y did when I switched.) Sam drafted the stipulation agreement regarding my children at mediation. It specified reunification therapy with an estranged daughter. Unfortunately, this is a disappointing piece of my decree that I've had to live with. It was written vaguely, making it difficult to enforce. With an already contentious divorce, Sam should have had the experience to know that there should have been deadlines put in place for choosing a therapist, as well as a recommended incremental increase in visitation if therapy goals were met. A year later, I am still estranged from my daughter and going through the court process to get visitation.

I could not be happier with my decision to hire Sam. He was recommended to me by a friend who had a similar experience. My divorce was initially going to be amicable, after I received paperwork from my now ex-wife’s lawyers, I was highly concerned (to say the least). I had never hired a lawyer befor...e and had only heard horror stories from others. Needless to say I was nervous at our first meeting. That lasted about five minutes. Sam is a personable individual, he talked to me and not at me. He never talked above my head and everything was explained in detail in a language I could understand. He was upfront about potential costs depending on which route the divorce went, but in the entire dealings with Sam (over six months) I never felt it was about the money. I’m not kidding, I always felt like it was about me and the best outcome. He was calming and understanding when I got upset, and guided me when I was being unreasonable…or on occasion too reasonable (in an attempt to just get it over with). He never had me do anything that went against what I felt was right and never took the case in a direction I did not agree with. I cannot say enough about Sam, at our last face-to-face meeting, after everything was done, I thanked him for not being the stereotypical lawyer you hear about or see on TV. If I ever have another legal issue, I will go back to Sam. If anyone I know is in need of a lawyer, I will recommend him with confidence.
