Daniel R. Hardee

I filed for divorce 6 years ago, it took almost one year to get completed and cost tens of thousands of dollars in attorney fees. Unfortunately I didn't have Dan Hardee as my attorney at that time. My custody arrangement with less than ideal, I ended up with around 17% custody with my son year roun...d. Two years back I filed paperwork to get my custody changed using my original lawyer. Nothing changed, it was stopped by the judge before it even got started. Last July I was ready to try for more custody again and decided to try another attorney. I chose Dan Hardee after a recommendation from a friend and reading online reviews about him. It was the best decision I could have ever made! It took 10 months of hard work by myself, Dan Hardee, and his wonderful staff but, I now have my son 50/50 year round! Dan Hardee is first class all the way, explaining ever step of the process, having me fully prepared for my deposition by opposing counsel, and being very thorough on deposing my ex-wife. He explained what to expect during the parenting evaluation and had me fully prepared for that as well. Giving me idea's that increased my odds of getting a favorable outcome. I went from paying, what I consider, a large monthly child support payment to actually receiving a small child support payment. Dan promised me, in the beginning, he would help me get more custody of my son I just didn't believe I would get what I was asking for. During this process we were required to do mediation, I went in knowing full well I would not get 50/50 in mediation since that was what I was asking for, I had to negotiate down. Just as my ex was not willing to budge an inch off our current custody agreement and would have to negotiate up. It went nowhere since my ex was not willing to negotiate. That was when Dan Hardee filed for a parenting evaluator to get involved. By the luck of the draw the judge assigned us Cary Imeson in Eagle. I cannot say enough nice things about Cary Imeson as well, she did a very through evaluation spending over 30+ hours evaluating our case and ended up coming back with a recommendation to myself and ex wife, our respective attorneys, and the courts of 50/50 year round, improved the holiday schedule, gave me more than I asked for during the summer schedule, improved how we do our exchanges to reduce conflict , and recommended we work together to get our son a passport, which was very important to me. Like I titled this review, I could not be happier with my decision to hire Dan Hardee, and also a special thanks to Cary Imeson.

I used Dan for a modification and during the first consultation, he wanted to make sure I knew what was unrealistic to ask for because it wouldn't be awarded. I appreciated that up front honesty which just continued throughout the process. He made sure I knew all the risks, some of which we could mit...igate and some of which where not in our control. The only promise he made is that he would do his absolute best to represent me. I believe he full-filled that promise. I feel he considered my children's well being very important during the whole process. As for the technical details, he is well versed in family law and well practiced. During the proceeding, he gave options that included time, emotional (especially for the kids,) and fiscal costs which was nice. His only agenda was in fair representation. I have called him on a couple of occasions after the initial modification and he convinced me that the cost vs potential rewards didn't add up.

Dan and his team did a great job handling my divorce. Mine was by no means an easy case as opposing council and my ex had viewpoints that were completely opposite mine. Probably not unusual but it certainly made it stressful for me. Dan really helped by educating me on the process and laid out a so...lid strategy that gave me realistic expectations, reduced my stress and led to a positive outcome for me. His honest approach, planning and advice helped keep costs down which was a refreshing experience. Having experienced some of the intricacies of family law I am thankful that I hired Dan and his vast experience and excellent reputation within the legal community.

We've used Dan's services for approximately 5 custody related battles with ex spouses, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm happy to have used Dan but if you find yourself in a situation where you need a family law attorney you can't do any better than Dan. Dan is compassionate, professional,... aggressive, talented, honestly tries to save his clients money and represents his client well even if it's telling the client something they don't want to hear like "You don't have a case" or "You should settle because you aren't likely to get a better resolution at trial." Based on our numerous experiences with him and other Boise attorneys I have no doubt he is the best family law attorney in Boise, hire him before the opposing side does :).

I hired Dan to work on my divorce case. I interviewed 2 other lawyers before making a decision. Dan was knowledgeable and upfront about the pros and cons of my case. One thing I really appreciated was they sent a very detailed and itemized invoice detailing each months charges. So I knew exactly what... I was being charged for. It reassured me that they were spending their time (and my money) wisely. His paralegal Brandi was also great. Very knowledgeable, detailed, and prompt.
