Best decision I made.

In the nearly 2 years we have worked with Chuck we learned what a caring and honest man he is. He didn't tell us what we wanted to hear nor did he ever try to over inflate our expectations. When we talked with Chuck he always listened and asked questions. He also took notes of anything we had concerns about. He talked us back to reality when we had a hard day in court, and always made sure we knew what the next step was or what to expect. He always pushed to show our side of what was going on and made sure our concerns were voiced. Whenever we reached out to him he was always available even during covid, on the weekends or even after we finished. He would check in on our kids and how visitations went. His invoices are straight forward so you always know what you are paying for. His staff is always as caring and friendly as he is. Charles Bauer, a native of Moscow, Idaho, graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1979, and has received the “AV” rating, issued by the Martingale-Hubbell/LexisNexis Legal Directory, the highest rating an attorney can receive. He was the 2018 reciptient of the Idaho State Bar Association's "Award of Distinction" from the Family Law Section, and is a former chair of the Family Law Section. He's written and lectured regularly on family law topics and issues for the Idaho State Bar's Continuing Legal Education programs around the state for over 30 years. He taught Family Law and Community Property as an adjunct professor for the University of Idaho School of Law, Boise Campus, between 2012-2017. He was a founding partner of the Boise Law Firm Bauer and French in 1992. He joined Gravis Law PLLC as Managing Attorney of their Boise Office in September, 2018.

Professional and Personable

Chuck has conducted my divorce and custody case with expertise, concern, and spontaneous requests to include successful representation through the Supreme Court. I would highly recommend him for any matter concerning family court. He is the best!

Amazing Counsel

From the first time I met Charles, I was given a sense of confidence knowing he was going to fight his hardest for me and my daughter. Excellent Representation

I hired Charles Bauer to handle my divorce on the recommendation of a colleague who had been quite happy with him some time ago. While my ex-wife and I did not end up going to trial, we did have a few legal tussles along the way to a settlement. She, and her attorney(s), were fairly aggressive in demanding certain things from me -- in the form of money, custody of our son, and more generally, a settlement that suited her. Chuck was a good guide through these various exchanges. He acted as a voice of reason for me, when my inclination was to respond emotionally. The one time we did go to court (to deal with a couple of petitions filed by my ex), he did a great job. In the end, she and I settled. However, the post-settlement has been almost as tumultuous as the period between filing and settling, and Chuck has been just as effective in handling my responses to what seems to be a continuous stream of demands from my ex. I recommend him without reservation.

Highly recommended

Charles Bauer gave me hours at an extra discount, throughout my case, while communicating his actions and why. Charles gave me multiple consultations, some free and a couple at 1/3 price, before asking to be retained, after explaining the most likely outcomes to me. I am very happy with Charles Bauer. Recommended.

Custody Modification

Mr. Bauer was very helpful in litigating a custody modification for me. His work was thorough, and he promptly responded to any questions I had about my case. His staff was also very helpful in getting me any information I needed. I would recommend Mr. Bauer and his law firm to anyone needing help with a family law case.

A++ Lawyer

Charles Bauer is not only a lawyer but a real caring, honest and straight forward human being. His communication on every issue is super fast for someone in his position and with his work load. He's the type of lawyer that won't just tell you what you want to hear, but what you NEED to hear. If not for his kick in the butt I might just be squabbling over something I didn't need too. I live in Iowa and needed to hire a Lawyer in the state my child lives in and got it wrong the first time....I switched to Charles and if he lived in my home state of Iowa I'd have him over for dinner for the amazing job he's done. If your looking for someone who will tell you the truth...honestly what you need to hear and will get the job done...he's your guy.

Choosing Charles Bauer as my Attorney was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

From the first day that I walked into Chuck's office I recognized him as a compassionate and caring professional. Throughout my entire divorce process, Chuck was always there for me to answer questions and to provide well thought out advice. His entire team was friendly and also quick to help with any questions or requests. This was my first time, and hopefully last, that I ever needed the services of an attorney. However, if I ever require help from a legal professional Chuck would be the first person that I would call.

I'm a client for life!

I cannot say enough great things about Chuck and his team. I came to him at my absolute wits end after a breakup with the father of my twin 18 month olds. We were in a stalemate over custody and I was terrified of what the end result would be. Chuck's legal knowledge is unparalleled. It seemed the entire law library was stored neatly in his head. Because of this he can come up with solutions on the fly. He never pushed me in a direction that I didn't want to go, and helped me come up with creative solutions in a very sticky case. On a personal level he was incredibly encouraging and supportive. He answered all of my many, many questions (often after hours and on weekends via e-mail) with the highest level of patience and understanding. He got me exactly what I wanted in my case. My children are safe because of him. I am not sure there is any greater compliment I can give than that. I will be recommending him to absolutely everyone I know.

Excellent!

I recently retained the services of Charles Bauer to handle my divorce/custody case. He is extremely knowledgeable and gets the job done! It was a terrifying and scary experience, but having Mr. Bauer on my side gave me an incredible advantage because of his experience, reputation, and genuine concern for his clients. Charles Bauer

I want to thank Chuck Bauer for helping me in long Family court case. From the beginning he was on the ball and very helpful not only explaining everything in detail but always reminding me that what was going on in the present moment would not be forever. Coustody

I was able to achieve Coustody of my children. I did a lot of the legwork on my own to cut down costs. I'm personally not sure how my attorney would be at trial because I wasn't able to experience it. I can say that he made sure he covered most everything to get the best outcome for me.

Unorganized

Highly unorganized and not detail oriented. I had to review and second guess what I was told because there were repeated errors. Doesn't follow through to meet promised deadlines, seemed overwhelmed. I should have followed my gut and changed attorneys.
