I had an aggressive driver following me, acting like they would side swipe me, getting in front of me and braking hard, etc. when I tried to speed away to avoid an accident, I was charged with reckless driving for speeding and illegal lane changes. The aggressive driver went so far as to pull in behi...nd the officer and lie that I had caused an accident and that they had been tailing me to get a license #. This angered the sheriff's deputy further, who then wrote up the situation to look as though I had possibly caused an accident, hit and run, and then further inferred that I had taken a long time "to catch up to" as if I was avoiding being pulled over or trying to get away from the police. Steve gave me the benefit of his substantial experience on both sides, prosecutorial and defense, and let me know the worst case/highly unlikely outcome, the likeliest worst outcome, the likeliest best outcome, and how to work toward the best possible outcome. I felt less unease immediately and more empowered. I had to do work to assist Steve and he was open to my ideas, such as providing GPS to show there was no merit to the aggressive driver's hit and run story, etc. I completed the tasks that Steve asked of me and the result was a deal with the prosecutor for a lesser charge and a fine.
