Scott Goldstone is a founding partner at Peek Goldstone, LLC. A New York native, Scott moved to Colorado in 2007. While out east, Scott received a B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and after settling in Colorado, earned his Juris Doctorate in 2010 from the Denver University Sturm College of Law.

Scott’s practice primarily focuses on family law, including divorce and legal separation; allocation of parental responsibilities (custody); paternity; adoption; post-decree issues such as modification of child support and spousal maintenance (alimony); and appeal work. Scott also represents clients who have tax issues with the IRS and is an experienced mediator.

While Scott often practices in Weld County, he also represents clients and provides mediation services in the following counties: Adams/Broomfield, Boulder, Denver, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Logan, and Morgan, Washington, and Yuma.

Regardless of the type or location of the case, Scott believes that his role as an attorney is very similar to his role as a mediator – he wants to help you find solutions without the judge imposing those “solutions” on you. He believes that lawyers are first and foremost problem solvers. For Scott, this means trying to keep a dialogue going with opposing party or opposing counsel, and openly and honestly communicating with the client about potential outcomes if the case proceeds to trial and the types of cost (both financial and non-financial) involved.

Scott strives to assist each and every client in reaching an amicable resolution, but he is also an experienced and gifted litigator who has taken hundreds of cases to trial and is more than ready to do that in your case. Scott will zealously and competently represent you if your case proceeds to trial.

Scott is especially passionate about protecting children and victims of domestic violence. His background includes work at the Bringing Justice Home Project in Fort Collins, CO and the Pace Women’s Justice Center in White Plains, NY. Scott has also spoken at a number of conferences and seminars regarding domestic violence, date rape, teen dating violence, the impact of domestic violence on children, and the impact of divorce on children.

Aside from his work, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 children, and german shepherd.

Made me feel like I wasn't in it alone
In my divorce, I behaved with the principle that nobody cared more about my divorce than me. But Scott made me feel like he DID care as much as I did. I feel I had a great partnership with Scott. I provided as much background and documentation as possible, he offered his counsel and advice, and fought hard for me in court. He did a wonderful job of representing me in my high-conflict divorce. I have continued to depend on him to handle the miscellaneous motions that continue to pop up from time to time post-divorce. In addition to providing great legal advice, I felt like Scott really cared about me and what happened with my kids in the divorce.

Thank You, Scott
Scott is one of a kind. I never expected to laugh when meeting with my divorce attorney, but it happened many times, even occasionally via email! Not only is he down to earth, professional and highly capable of making a stressful process seamless and effortless on your part, he is genuine, compassionate and truly has your best interests in mind. Combine that with his expertise, thoroughness and ability to be firm when needed, and you have an exceptional attorney who will go above and beyond. He exceeded my expectations all the way across the board and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking counsel and/or representation.

Scott was awesome!
I used Scott to navigate post-divorce custody and child support issues. He was always very helpful and easy to get a hold of when I had questions (and I had a lot of questions). I retained him at his previous firm and when he moved to his new one I didn't hesitate to follow him. He was knowledgeable, down to Earth, professional, and sympathetic. Some of the best money I have ever spent was on having Scott as my lawyer. I only wish I had had him during the divorce itself!

Child custody/child support
Im what they called a satisfied customer, both on a professional and personal level Scott was always very respectful and attentive to what our needs were and what we were looking to get out of this case. Overall I can say and recommend to hire him on since he was always approaching the case as if it was his, kept in contact as much as possible and always was able to answer any question to the best of his abilities also always well dressed and on time for all the court dates.

highly recommend
Scott is a highly knowledgeable, incredibly helpful attorney. He helped my family through a nasty legal case, while providing support and honesty throughout the process. Scott is honest with you about your case, and will tell you if you're case should be handled outside of the courtroom. He has a very true compassion for his profession and his clients, he will celebrate victories and mourn losses with you. I highly recommend Scott Goldstone.

Scott did an excellent job helping me with a complicated out of state custody issue. He is very knowledgeable and saved me time and money by knowing exactly what to do to get things done. Scott went above and beyond, helping me after hours going into a holiday break. Highly recommended.

Came to Scott with a very difficult case where opposing party already had a few victories thanks to another attorney I hired that did not do so great and I needed them reversed. Scott diligently set out to get them corrected. One by one they all fell. All the while he was VERY good at keeping me informed of the process and ensuring that he was going after just what I wanted. I could not have asked for better representation.

One of the best in the business
I have quite a bit of experience with legal representation, having been involved in family court for over 8 years as the petitioner in divorce and custody proceedings. I have personally had 4 different attorneys. Scott Goldstone is, by far, the best counsel I have ever had. He is aggressive when needed, thorough, he explains everything to you in ways you can comprehend, and above all he is caring and compassionate, Scott truly cares about his clients. If you, or anyone you know, is in need of legal counsel, I would highly recommend Mr. Goldstone.

Mr. Goldstone ghosted us
Mr. Goldstone is the opposing counsel in our divorce proceeding. He refuses to return my attorney's emails and calls. Extremely unprofessional behavior for an attorney.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer
"Scott not only advocates for his clients, he is very knowledgeable on the law. This is extremely beneficial for clients who are in high stakes litigation where an ability to present a case to a judge is only one piece of a very complicated puzzle. Many family law attorneys don't stay up to date on the law surrounding the divorce and custody process - to their client's detriment. Scott will know the ins and outs of how to effectively present, and if necessary, litigate the client's case for the best possible outcome."
