A Thorough, Attentive, and Genuine Attorney.

During the darkest period of my life I got pulled over and charged with a DUI. Being fully compliant with my arresting officers, there weren't any holes in the case, and to make matters worse, I had a very high BAC. The next day I was advised to shop around for lawyers, and was recommended a few from... a friend and a family member who had been in similar situations. Every lawyer I called for consultation seemed chiefly concerned about money. They also sounded rushed, and could not provide much in the way of meaningful guidance. All the stereotypes one hears about lawyers appeared to be true, and having never been in serious legal trouble before, I felt terribly lost. With luck, I eventually chanced upon Ms. Watkins while searching this website, and decided to call her based on the reviews. She was responsive and thoughtful right off the bat. What I expected to be a cursory consultation turned into over one hour of conversation. Ms. Watkins answered all of my questions, shared anecdotes about similar situations she had helped others through, and most importantly, she gave me detailed advice on how to proceed, all without broaching the topic of fees. She was highly informative, fully engaged, and very calming. Before I even retained her, Ms. Watkins had already helped me work out a list of steps to take for the next few weeks, and provided me with a great sense of clarity in regard to my tasks moving forward. I asked to retain her right after that phone call. Lawyers can be very busy and Ms. Watkins is no exception, but she would always make sure to return my calls and respond to my emails with careful attention to my concerns, even when rushing from one court room to another. There were a few times when it was quite late at night and I was feeling nervous about the upcoming court proceedings, but she was still there to talk me down and give me more information. She helped me stay organized and as positive as possible the whole way through. In the end, I received notably less than the minimum penalties for my first - and what will certainly be my only - offense. On the day of my sentencing, Jennifer was a deeply calming presence, and stuck around to help me with all of the court paperwork regarding my probation too. I would highly recommend this attorney to anyone who asks, and I firmly believe that the outcome of my case could not have been better. What seemed like an insurmountable obstacle in my life - and what is, without a doubt, the dumbest mistake I have ever made - is now something I can move forward from as a stronger individual. I would not be in the position to do this without the assistance that Jennifer gave me.

Experienced lawyer, Wonderful human!

I hope you are reading this review out of curiosity, however, my prayers and hopes go for you if you are in a legal trouble. In the latter case, the reasons you HAVE to work with Mrs. Watkins are the followings: 1) she is exceptionally experienced on the criminal DUI process, 2) she is decently famil...iar-with and respected-by the judiciary system, 3) she is realistic and reasonable, and 4) she is great human being. Without any doubts, I nominate Mrs. Watkins as the best criminal defense lawyer in the Boulder county. If you are interested in my story, here it goes…..I’m a 30yrs old working professional with doctorate-level education. I moved to Colorado last year and didn’t know about the DWAI laws and ended up being arrested for DUI+Reckless driving…God I was scared, horrified and was feeling helpless at the time. The whole world was spinning in my head. Alot of questions...ruminations...anxiety. I remembered that I sent emails to 4 different lawyers the next day (it was a Saturday)…Jennifer was the first one who called me less than 1hr afterwards. I talked to her and based on her questions immediately felt like “she knows this process very well!”. The impression that I never received from other lawyers that I talked to and/or met with. Fast forward, I met with her and shared my concerns regarding career, immigration, potential jail sentencing and etc. She was calm, respectful, nonjudgmental and empathic in regards. Based on her advise, I started Level II alcohol education class immediately and signed up for some volunteer works and MADD panel. It took 8weeks to appear before the judge with BAC of 0.07, however, we gathered and presented the documents regarding my attendances and my career. We plead quality on DWAI and reckless driving was dismissed. Unbelievably, my sentencing was lower that any minimums! No jail, no probation, no work release, no house arrest or etc. Just minimum fines and the finishing the level II classes with 24hr community service which already got credited from my volunteering. Takehome: There is a lot you can do before appearing in the court and Please do so! You wont’ believe how impactful those can be. It starts by calling Jennifer!

Daughter DUI

Ms Watkins did an outstanding job representing my daughter in her DUI case. She stepped us though all the appropriate actions we needed to take to get as favorable an outcome at here trial. Jennifer was able to convince the judge to review all the documentation she submitted rather than just hand ...down the penalties based on the BA Level. This resulted in a greatly reduced sentence.

Get your life back under control.

Unfortunately I was picked up in Boulder with a blood alcohol content of .059%. Barely over the legal limit but ticketed nonetheless. Searched around a bit and contacted Jennifer after reading some reviews. I'm so glad I did. Her price was reasonable considering the circumstances and she went right t...o work to help me get through it. In the end I got the best outcome that I could have hoped for. If you are looking for a normal, caring, knowledgeable lawyer that knows the system and has lots of experience then look no further.
